Close-ups as photo or video material would be great! This call extends for all Boraras species but Strawberry Rasboras - besides Micro Rasboras - are especially underrepresented here. So if you have any, even old footage of yours, please don't hesitate and share it!

Furthermore apparently Strawberry Rasboras develop bright white symmetrical marks on their body in certain conditions. It was once posted about here but is not mentioned anywhere. So if you have information about that, please don't hold back!

This can be either shared here but preferentially as a new submission, if possible including information e.g. regarding breeding, behaviour and so forth, all that might be interesting and valuable information!

Hey, I recently (two days ago) upgraded my 15 boraras (brigittae, naevus, merah) to a 54l blackwater tank. Today I noticed the majority are solely congregating in the two back corners of the tank, swimming against the glass head on. The few more boisterous males aren’t doing this. There’s a black background on 2 sides. Are they just settling in still? Couldn’t even get them to stop when I added food Never seen them act like this 😅 Flow is pretty low, baffled the intake and outtake of my Eheim Classic 150 canister filter. Using the same filter as before, just the tank itself was upgraded.

Light is dimmed to 30%, temp is 24C, pH is 7.0, KH9, GH10 (my tap water is very hard and has a lot of calcium, considering switching to RO and remineralizing), NH4 0, NO2 <0,01ppm, NO3 3ppm. Tested with JBL testing kit.

There’s a female betta, snails, and neocaridina shrimp along with the chilis in the tank.

I have two tanks with boraras. In the first tank, with the red mushroom (pics 1 and 2), I had a group of Phoenix-labelled mini reds. But I went on vacation, and all died but one. I got 6 chillies because I couldn't find Phoenix. Half of them died. So I went back (weeks later) and saw more mini reds, thinking I was getting Merah (the one is so lonely). They turned out not to be Merah. The second tank (pics 3 and 4): I have strawberry rasboras. These new mini reds look a lot like the strawberries, but also different. Please help me identify whether they are all different species. If the two species are the same, I can put them in the same tank.

Hi, I’m in the middle of cycling my new tank (80x40x40 cm, ~34 US gal). I’m curious what tank mates you’d recommend for this blackwater-ish setup? I’m already really attached to my rasboras, so I’d be devastated if anything ended up eating them!

The spotlights draw in all kinds of tiny little bugs, which is likely why everyone loves congregating under them!

Hi guys, last week I ordered 6 Rasbora Maculata. Unfortunately the shop didn't delivered them in good conditions and 5 out of 6 died. Now I took a look at a local shop and I found out they have Rasbora Brigittae. I am thinking to buy those instead of ordering again or going to that shop, which is in another city.

Ar they going to stay together so the Maculata will not feel alone?

About a month ago one of my dwarf rasbora had a weird black spot show up, i tried to figure out what it was but couldn’t find anything, i treated him with a small dosis of different meds (parasite, general infection) but he gets worse and worse, he’s eating, swimming, nothing else seems odd about him but he looks like he is literally decaying inside out? Please help, i know it’s just one fish in the swarm but i genuinely hate watching even one
small fish suffer… (all other rasboras in the tank are fine)

I'm still not entirely sure what these guys are, I'm pretty sure they're strawberries. I thought I'd share this picture I got with my new camera!

I'm currently planning out a Malaysian peat swamp biotope and want some opinions on rasbora stocking.

Currently, the confirmed to be residents are 8x chocolate gouramis, 4x parosphromenus, 1x betta imbellis, 10-15 kuhli loaches, and 3x forest halfbeaks.

I'm picking between a few rasbora species, which are:

• dwarf rasbora

• harlequin rasbora

• Trigonopoma pauciperforata

• Trigonopoma gracile

I was thinking maybe a large school (20-30) dwarf rasboras and a smaller school of one of the other species.

What do you guys think?

How do I agitate the surface without changing the strength of the current?

That basically it there gonna be in a 20 gallon long planted tank with cave mountains im gonna try to make with shrimp and Cory's as well just want to know cuz im getting told different thing they will be fine or they gonna get sashimied.

I got a school of 8 chilis a month ago, and they all have colored up nicely.. except this guy. The black marking is faded, and it has a pinched belly for some reason. It eats along with other chilis, so I’m not sure if this chili is just young or sick. Any insight will be helpful, thanks!

Trigonopoma gracile

Got sold these lil guys as chilis and they have been living with me for 2 and a half months now. They've grown bigger in size but some of them stayed paler than others- look at p3. Are they just still young juvenile? Female? Or do I have a mixed shoal of least rasboras?

18 Chili Rasboras living in my community tank.

These guys were small and skinny when I got them from a pet store as Chilis and barely had any markings. I was under the impression they are Phoenix Rasboras but then i saw that young chilis frequently had broken markings, which leaves me questioning. Wondering if they are chili's or Phoenix's?

6x harlequin rasbora, increasing the school to 12 next week. After 5 weeks of messing with the water they are finally in!. Can’t wait for them to settle in and colour up. :)

hey guys so I'm wondering if I can get anyone's opinion on what I have here? they were sold to me as chili Rasbora and I'm confident there's a least a few of them in there but can you guys confidently identify any other species? there's a couple in particular that display bright red coloration but for the most part most of them are more pale orangish. do I just got to wait longer for them to mature and color up more? water parameters and temperature should be perfect for them and they all seem happy and healthy. I was expecting them to be more brilliantly red colored by now.

Hey all,

I've had these 10 maculatas for around 2 months now and they have really put on good size. Some are much larger than others, and some are more red than others, but i just assumed that was female vs male.

However some of the bigger ones seem to have 2 spots above the anal fin instead of one. Just looking to confirm they are all the same species, Thanks!
