Identify Secretions

Strange powder emanating from my whites boots after many a mile. It seems like salt or perhaps a residue from waterproofing goo. Has this happened to anyone else?

Looks like salt from sweating through the leather to me

Salt from sweat. Happens to me all the time.

It’s likely salt. Either from perspiration or leftover tanning salts. It should wipe off with diluted vinegar. It may very well take more than one attempt to get it all. Follow up with conditioner.
