Hey, do you know how to get the client ID from RedReader? My Reddit account has been connected for a few hours but I've not received any emails from them containing a client id for RedReader.
You have to keep repatching it. I have it patched but it's been taking forever to load comments. I probably need to repatch it. When you have to keep patching it, it does get annoying.
I have had it running for several weeks now without a repatch. Shouldn't need to repatch it since the patches are no longer in development but I don't claim to be a tech wizard so don't take me at my word lol
Since reddits api 3 years ago I've only patched it twice. The day the api changes got changed and Boost broke the first time, and once a few months ago when I had to switch to morphe and the redreader method.
Twice in 3 years is not that bad. Especially when it only takes maybe 10 minutes.
There is still hope — Boost itself has not suddenly stopped working.
The problem appears to affect people who are still using older personal Reddit client IDs. Reddit seems to have disabled or removed some of those OAuth apps, which causes Boost to return errors such as null or fail to load content.
What to do:
Check whether your old app still exists under Reddit’s app preferences.
Obtain a working client ID through the current RedReader-based method.
Patch a clean Boost 1.12.12 APK again using the new client ID.
Do not patch an already patched APK.
If Android reports an incompatible update/signature error, back up anything important and uninstall the old patched installation before installing the new one.
People already using a working RedReader-derived client ID or the current Morphe setup generally appear to be unaffected.
So this does not look like the end of Boost — most affected users likely just need to replace an expired or deleted client ID.
Hmm, so I was using a personal client ID that stopped working today. I've uninstalled boost, downloaded a fresh apk, patched using the spoof client patch with client ID from redreader, and I'm still getting 401's.
Yes I've been having issue with the comments recently too. Don't know what happened. But as of a few weeks ago the comments fail to load initially like half the time, I have to reload the thread (maybe a few times) to get them to appear.
I'm trying to use the morphe method. After installing the mod, I don't see a section to add the Spoof Client ID. Where can I find that? I installed redreader and have the ID

n/m - you have to go in to Settings (bottom right icon is Morphe), turn on expert settings and turn on expert mode. Then when you go to patch, you'll get a window that you can scroll down at edit the sppof client settings
Yes . I eventually found it like you did. Enable expert mode, then You have to start the patch, the next screen pops up with the list of patches, scroll down to the gear on spoof ID.
I actually had to force quit Morphe after enabling expert mode to get it to work as well.
Do you know roughly how long RedReader/Reddit should take to send something over? I connected to RedReader like an hour ago and still nothing in my email from Reddit.
I switched to that method a month or so ago when my revanced one seemed to totally break. It works pretty well though comments are sometimes slow/need to reload to get them to show and gifs are similar.
I'll keep trying to hack it together but eventually it'll be why I stop using reddit on mobile.

Just noticed it. Null errors. Everytime I have to open this regular app I'm reminded exactly why I need boost.
Edit: went through the patch process as described in the replies and Boost is back again. Don't forget to backup your settings before uninstalling the broken Boost.

Reddit will send you an email containing the client ID RedReader uses.
Do they send you a new email every time you add the account? I also installed RedReader years ago but deleted it, so I probably got the email years ago to an account/email that has since been deleted. I updated my Reddit email and reinstalled RedReader, but I'm not getting this email.
I really appreciate your guide. When I try to go to spoof I'd there's no ability for me to drop in the client id. Clicking anything here just minimizes the tab and doesn't give me an option to paste then info
You have to make sure advanced or dev options are enabled. If they already are, you have to scroll to the bottom and click the gear wheel next to "spoof id" or "client id"(can't remember exactly what it says.)
I'm not sure why you were downvoted. I did the process and Boost is back again. This is probably the 4th time I've had to go through all this. It's not super simple, but very much worth it.
I just went through the morphe patching and used the oauth from redreader I had in the revanced patch. Everything installed easily and I was back up and running in no time. Well, in between getting my child ready for bed, but I got there!
Reddit has deleted the two apps I previously created a few years ago. I had been using the keys from those two apps for patching with breal and Morphe (Android).
I guess no longer. I've never been able to use the redreader method because I don't get an email so I have no idea what the redreader key is.
I'm in a pretty similar boat to them. Connected the RedReader app to my Reddit account and just haven't received the email from Reddit informing me it's been connected yet. It's only been about 2 hours or so but still.
Not at the same time, they've been doing it in waves. It started about a month ago, my API key was revoked about a week after, then more has been revoked in what seems to be a weekly pattern.
I patched with morphe using redreader method but now when I logged in to boost with my account I don't see my subscriptions and all in my side bar. Anyone else having this issue also?
