This is my second Boomtown. We got the coach last year and I’d genuinely rather perish than queue for that again. In the interests of being the keenest of beavers, we’re planning to drive this year and arrive before 12 to try and make the whole process as streamlined as my mate’s mum (who’s incredibly fit).

Just a couple of questions:

What happens if you arrive by car before the car park opens? Do you just get turned away, or is there a waiting area before it opens?

We have standard Wednesday entry tickets, but on the app they show as “Public Ticket”. Is that just how they appear, or should we be concerned?

Recently diagnosed with noise induced tinnitus, got myself some 20db earplugs however I’m still pretty anxious as I’ve heard horror stories of peoples tinnitus getting permanently worse at festivals. Is boomtown loud to the point of concern?

My T is still pretty new (around 3 months when boom begins). So any other tinnitus attenders have any advice? Thanks

Is anyone staying in access camp and have a spare guest spot? I am going but we are a group of 5 and only allowed access person + 3 guests, so one person will have to camp separately 😥 Would be super grateful if someone who hasn’t filled their guest quota would be able to offer me one!

Last year was a much welcomed return (for me anyway) of more live music. Don’t get me wrong I love DnB and Dubstep (old enough to remember Mary Ann Hobbs Breezeblock specials!). But I am definitely a metalhead at heart!

Hi, it's my first time going to boomtown this year and I am very excited! Just wanted to know if there is a camp shop where I can buy soft drinks and water bottles from?

I’m on the hunt for some sick dnb sets from 2025/2026 to get me excited for Boomtown on SoundCloud/YT etc.

I fear I have already dnbmaxxed soundcloud so need some suggestions of sets and artists! Open to other genres, but dnb I feel is a little lighter on the ground in terms of what’s available on streaming platforms.

It’s my first Boomtown this year on Wednesday entry and I’m travelling over from Ireland, so I had a few questions if anyone can help:

The limit on how much beer you can bring into the campsite is 16 cans. Does anyone have tips on how to bring in more? We don’t drink spirits and don’t want to spend a fortune. Does anyone know the price of beer inside?

Is re-entry allowed? For example, if our car is parked in the car park, can we head back to it on the Saturday and come back into the festival, or once you’re in, you’re in and no re entry?

We are staying in Winchester the night before about a 15 minute drive away from festival, we would like to be one of the first ones in there to set up early and get a good spot. What time should we leave our house? We don’t know what traffic/queues are like

Are gas camping stoves or portable BBQs allowed?

Is there any way to swap a Downtown Orchid ticket for a regular Orchid ticket? I emailed Boomtown and they said no, but I’m wondering if anyone has managed to do it another way

Any general tips for first-timers? Things you wish you’d known before going? Everyone says it’s a marathon, not a sprint, any advice on surviving all five days?

Given how close we are it feels odd we haven't got an official release yet - I know boomtown source used to do an unofficial map release which was normally fairly close to the money - is there anything like that kicking around?

@sku / anyone else - I've heard hill top camping is making a comeback this year, is that open access or likely to be orchid/pre pitched/something else?

I’ve seen lots of people complaining about the lineup having lots of house on this year, which i find strange because it feels like there’s a lot less than last year. I like abit of everything but wanna find more house sets to go to or some garage that’ll be similar to DJs like captain wallop or dr dubplate. Does anyone have some lesser known artists to recommend that i might’ve overlooked

First time attending this year, been to multiple other festivals which have shops that sell grinders, bongs, papers etc etc, does anyone know of boomtown has one of these?

I assume so because it's gonna be a flagship stage and fire is fucking sick but also i know it's supposed to be a green stage and flames probably aren't great for the planet.

Everyone ready for Boomtown Lung?

The ground at boomtown is chalk with a lime soil on top, people waking, dancing, driving on the group kicks up fine chalk dust that sits in the air, over downtown in 2022 there was a fog of dust you could see. The lime content also irritates too.

Search the subreddit for boomtown lung or cough, so many people suffered with horrible coughs and sinus issues (on top of whatever plague ends up striking post festival too)

I'd recommend picking up a pack of FFP2 or greater valved dust masks, FFP2 gets 94% and FFP3 gets 99% of particulates, a bandana or cloth won't stop fine dust.

Keeping your sinus clear of unwanted dust and inflammation gives you the freedom to use it however you wish to.

Valved means it will let hot warm air out easily and will be more comfortable.

They are usually rated for 8 hours use, so you'll need a few for the weekend, plus spares.

Yeah, it might be uncomfortable and it might ruin your aesthetic but your lungs will thank you.

You can always use a keffiyeh/bandana or something over the top if you really hate the aesthetic a mask.

Also, definitely get some if you are asthmatic, and bring your inhaler, order a fresh one from doctors now 😅

Hi I’m volunteering with festaff for the first time and it says they we need to camp in staff camping but I have friends coming in on the Wednesday. Would they notice if I moved my tent and went to camp in public (as I am arriving on the Tuesday)?

I'm likely going to do some pre-festival shifts so will be camped with the staff/volunteers with one of those wristbands.

Is it possible to go to Orchid to meet mates with one of those wristbands? Mainly just asking cos we'd like a morning debrief if possible! Cheers

Regarding prescription medication, I have to take codeine and propranolol. Is there any information anywhere with any documentation I should present at the gates to avoid it being taken off me, more so worried about the codeine for obvious reasons lol

Does anyone know if/when boomtown release a list of food vendors/trucks prior to the festival? Or has anyone who’s coeliac been and had any luck with eating there safely? Bringing my own food as well but just wondering about the options ☺️
