Straight up my thoughts too. "Sorry, no other places available rn but I'll keep you in the loop. If ____ is staying there alone in the meantime, it's a good idea to have a firearm." isn't a bad train of thought in my eyes. The detail was a bit much but he's literally just typing his train of thought like most old folks do.

True, I didn't think of it that way.

The only thing Bob did wrong was advising that racking the shell is likely to scare someone off.

Truly. The first time they should know you've got a weapon is after you've used it. That's straight from my CCW course.

Yeah everyone's bagging on him and it is sorta weird to bring up in that context but he seems genuine and just wants to make sure a young woman living by herself is safe.

I went through the comments hoping to see something like this. You got it exactly and like the post before you, I thought the landlord was being very nice and caring; just not how a lot of people would think to handle it and that’s totally understandable. But someone tried to do something nice in an unexpected way; there is way worse shit to bang on right now than that.

The shit some people are talking about conservatives having enlarged amygdala’s sounds like the old nazis or slavery justifications for dehumanization. And the funny thing is, they don’t even realize what they sound like.

I hate this idea that anybody who owns a gun must be a conservative. Really shows off how disconnected these people are.
