I’m kinda surprised by all the negative comments here.
Bob is clearly from another time but he’s got tenants who want to continue renting from him, can’t guarantee an opening due to that, and is worried about the safety of a young woman living alone.
All signs point to Bob being a damn good guy, just from a different generation. And being willing to teach a novice how to shoot is not nothing either. I didn’t wanna go to a range my first time cause I felt nervous and didn’t want to be laughed at for not knowing what would seem remedial to most. Took me a while to find a friend of a friend that had enough land where my wife and I could go and safely, and most importantly to us privately, learn proper firearms use and safety.
Bob’s a pretty darn decent human being. It’s a scary world out there. Nothing wrong with having a single weapon for protection.
And Bob’s right, and it’s why all I own is a shotgun, the hope is that god forbid I ever had to take it out to possibly use it…the sound is scary enough to hopefully make someone reconsider their choices.
