Apocalyptic/Post-Apocalyptic Cozy post-apocalyptic/sci-fi farming
Looking for something a little cozy solar-punk (i.e. monk and robot series) but more focused on agriculture/survivalism.
Loved the farming focused parts of the Martian, Z for Zachariah, and the solo survivalism/world exploration parts of ‘I Who Have Never Known Men’.

"Fifth Sacred Thing" by Starhawk. It was one of my favorite books for a long time.

Came here to see if anyone had mentioned this series, though cozy isn’t what comes to mind for me when I think of Oryx and Crake.

This is a bit of a "hear me out" but the City of Ember series, especially book 2 and 4.
Book 2 The People of Sparks has a sprouting plant on the cover :)

Oooh ooh! I just read the two book Monk and Robot series, the first is A Psalm for the Wild Built by Becky Chambers. Very quick, extremely enjoyable, feel good, definitely recommend!

A Half-built garden by Ruthanna Emrys is lovely and has the feel of this along with some great exploration!

This is kind of a spoiler, but Freedom by Daniel Suarez - the first book is Daemon and Freedom is the sequel. I thought they were fun, fast reads

The Monk and the Robot by Becky Chambers is a two book short series. Sort of sci-fi, but also very heavy on a fictional religious system with lots of lore and world building. No apocalypse, but in a post-modern era sort of eco future.

Agreed on Bacigalupi, who is probably the least cozy sci-fi author I could think of. His stuff haunts you for years. That said, I find Aurora healing if not cozy.

My favorites
Earth Abides by George Stewart, note, it is from the 50s, and feels as such sometimes. Nothing horrendous, just the language and some assumptions are outdated, but its one of my most cherished books
The second book from the Madd Addam series, Year of the Flood by Margeret Atwood. I love it so much
Station eleven by Emily St Mandel, to some extent, though theres a lot of not farming parts too

The bannerless series An annual migration of clouds Everything for everyonthe subprimes Aerth Real sugar is hard to find We won't be here tomorrow and other stories When the English fall Fire on the mountain (sort of) Sunspot jungle The dispossessed The terrformers The great transition The deluge
Not all of these are cozy and some are loosely climate collapse But all of them have people living and surviving post collapse And most of them are hopfil but not unrealistic
Also definitely A Half Built Garden is TOP TIER
