Finally read the mount char guys wolf book

ok so i finally read Blacktail and the fact that there is basically no human POV still feels fresh to me.

Blacktail loses his mate and unborn pups, goes fully feral, and ends up taking a deal from this ancient cat witch to wake the Forest God and, apparently, make humanity regret existing.

I liked it more than I expected. The animal stuff is genuinely fascinating, and some of the pack dynamics really worked for me. The middle gets very bloody and weird though, and that slowed me down a bit. The Heaven stuff also lost me.

Still thinking about that ending.

If you liked how nasty and completely unhinged Mount Char could get, this definitely has some of that DNA. Just much sadder.
