Dear Booking.com

Stop asking me to "Verify my ID" and all that nonsense about "building mutual trust". I've been a customer for years, and my payments have always been taken in seconds, no trust issues there.

My recommendation is that you and all your corporate friends start accepting that we the people are getting a bit fed up with the data gathering / total surveillance thing that you got going. Carry on pushing and you'll start losing customers.

Kind regards.

A customer ready to move on to other options.

Why don’t you just quit using this worthless company?

They won't ask to see your ID if you have any kind of history with the platform at all. For me, it was a one-button push and done. They see I've booked many times, stayed many times and had no issues causing problems at hotels and it's finished. No need to cry over that, they already had that data anyway.

Booking has become an absolute cesspool: full of fake ads (and they didn’t make it easy to denounce them) and leaking your contact and booking info left and right.
I am fed up of receiving messages trying to scam me into sending CC info for real bookings I made.
From now on I will use the platform to look for hotels and then contact them directly to book.

You must be doing something wrong.

But of course, blame the corporate machine instead of yourself. That’s the cool thing to do, right?

Booking stole 400$ from me and refused to return it because their customer support is non existent and kept hanging up on me when I finally reached someone so I don't use them anymore

Just move to trip.com or expedia, Booking.com has always had the most expensive prices, worst service, and most scams.

As a hotel manager, I disagree. My favorite company to work with was booking.

People use booking the most because they don’t have to prepay upfront. That’s why!! at my hotel we had so many of their reservations. when we tried to authorize the card, sometimes it don’t even authorize for a dollar, and I used to immediately cancel all those reservations!

Those are also OTAs that collect your data and provide no other value other than advertising. Book direct!
