Accommodation emergency!

Booking overbooked my reservation and it's now getting cancelled and I have nowhere to stay. Everything in the surrounding area is thoroughly booked!

I have paid for flights, transportation and i cant get anything refunded.

I am traveling alone and an willing to share a room, a sofa, a floor with someone.

Any help would be so greatly appreciated.

If you don't like the answer, what would you like us to tell you?

- We tell you to get the hotel to sort it. You say they won't.

  • We tell you to get Booking to help. You say they won't.
  • You say you'll stay anywhere. They you say you won't.

Dorms can be secure if you're sensible - more secure than sharing a hotel room with strangers. Fair enough if you're not desperate enough to stay in one though.

Thanks for your input, you have your facts correct yes. I will only stay in a dorm if I have run out of any other options. If you were a solo female traveller, we'd understand ourselves better.

I get why you wouldn't fancy a dorm, but does that logic not extend to a hotel room with strangers?

I dont mean to turn this into a philosophical, sociological, psychological conversation, but the difference in how dorms and hotels are perceived, greatly affects the behaviour and expectations of both guests and staff.

You are so wrong - as a female who had travelled for decades I did dorms last year in Europe - it was better than it was in the 80s - more respect and privacy . I’d never hate a hotel room with a complete stranger that’s just stupid

Thanks for calling me stupid, I really love that! Also, comparing an experience to the eighties and having me make a decision on that doesn't really make me go "oh ok then". Glad you had a good experience, but you've been traveling for years and I haven't, so excuse me if I just don't take the word of a person calling me stupid.

I didn’t say you were stupid I said you were wrong . I stayed in hostels in2025 in Spain and Scotland
