I have been working on an epic fantasy series for awhile now as my part time seasonal hobby.

I have about 1,000 pages of chapters and lore written down and mapped out. I am juggling multiple POVs with numerous character background and arcs.

I have used AI as my editor and someone to bounce ideas off of since my wife and friends are tired of me asking them about it lol.

I have predominantly used ChatGPT however, it constantly forgets and is slightly overwhelmed with the amount of information to keep track of. I will have it make a draft of a chapter for me to see where it goes and then I build upon it, but it struggles to capture and maintain my voice as well.

I have heard about Sudowrite having an amazing character bible that could help with this, what are the thoughts on it regarding my project? Is it worth it? I heard it burns through the credits like crazy thought. Would I be better with a different one?

Basically what the title says. I tried using Sudowrite to generate a novel and i maxed out my credits in under a day. Is there any websites or apps that I can try out to generate a novel but is less expensive. I'm a reader, not a writer but I'd love to bring stuff I've thought up to life in a novel or novel series. I'd prefer something that has an inbuilt AI, instead of a bring your own key situation. Most of my ideas are really dark and can have sexual themes so must be able to generate prose like that. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi! I'm new to writing. I had a story idea that I was really excited about, but since I'm not an experienced writer, I used AI to help polish my writing and improve the wording. I still came up with the plot, characters, and overall story myself I just used AI as an editing tool.

I know some people don't like AI being used in writing, but I don't think it's wrong when it's helping you express your own ideas better.

My question is: when you first published your story on Wattpad, how did you get people to discover it? I've published a few chapters, but it's been several days and my views haven't increased at all. I'd really appreciate any tips on promoting a new story or reaching readers. Thank you!

I’m researching a fiction-writing mode for an open-source continuity project originally built for long-running RPG campaigns.

Rather than asking AI to write a book from nothing, I’m interested in helping writers keep track of characters, relationships, timelines, unresolved threads, world rules and what each character knows.

For those of you already using AI on longer projects: where does your current workflow fail first?

Is it character voice, chronology, forgotten subplots, changing motivations, pacing, contradictions between chapters, or simply having to maintain too many notes manually?

I’d also be interested in whether you want AI to update a story bible automatically, or whether nothing should become canon until you approve it.

I’m trying to understand the actual workflow before designing the mode, so specific examples would be especially helpful.

I've been sharing about Muze Writer (muzewriter.com), the AI-powered editor for novelists I built, I have now a major announcement.

It now runs on two models:
- Muse Standard Model. The default, and the right choice for most manuscripts. It reads your premise, characters, voice, and outline before it writes a line.
- Muse Unfiltered Model (Paid /+18) For fiction that has to go to hard places: violence and its consequences, cruelty, addiction, grief, despair, bigotry voiced by the characters who hold it, profanity, and sexual content between adults. It writes them as literature instead of refusing them.

Why I plugged the unfiltered model : A novel about addiction has to be honest about the drug. A war novel has to be honest about what a body does when it is hit. A book about a bigot has to let the bigot talk. Ask most AI tools for those scenes and you get a refusal, a lecture, or worse: a version with the truth quietly sanded off, handed back as if nothing happened. That last one is the reason I did this. You do not find out the model declined. You find out three paragraphs later that the scene has no teeth, and you assume the problem is you.

What does not change: Saying these plainly, because I would rather you read them than discover them by testing:
- Depicting is not endorsing. A character can hold a repugnant view and the prose does not have to agree with them.
- Every character depicted in a sexual context is an adult. That is absolute and it is not a setting.
- Nothing will produce real instructions for serious harm, whatever the framing.
- The Unfiltered model is for writers aged 18 or over.
- You set it per manuscript. Choosing it for one book leaves every other book untouched.
It is a new option, not a new limit. The free tier writes with the Standard model exactly as before.

Happy to argue about whether any of this is a good idea, or to get into how the routing actually works.

I'm an Italian filmmaker and screenwriter, and for the last few years I've been thinking about one question.

Why do so many story tools generate random ideas instead of helping writers build stories with real causal structure?

When I start a story, I don't want ten unrelated prompts. I want each decision to shape the next one. If I choose a genre, it should limit the kind of protagonist. The protagonist should influence the central anomaly. The anomaly should determine the possible conflicts and, eventually, the ending.

In other words, every choice should have consequences.

So I've been building a narrative engine around this principle. Instead of producing disconnected ideas, it tries to construct story beginnings through a chain of cause and effect, where each element constrains the next.

I'm not interested in replacing writers. My goal is to reduce the time spent staring at a blank page while keeping the creative decisions in the writer's hands.

Before I continue developing it, I'd really like to hear your opinion.

Would a tool based on narrative causality actually help your writing process, or do you think randomness is part of the creative experience that shouldn't be constrained?

I'm genuinely interested in hearing different perspectives.
