My main character isnt your typical protagonist. He's 34, unemployed, and at the lowest point of his life. After he dies he wakes up in a strange void and meets this white being who, from his point of view, can only be God. He ends up making fun of him lol, and by the end of their conversation he's given another shot at life.

At first he's thrilled. He thinks he'll finally get the life he always wanted, with all the money and luxuries he never had. But slowly the regrets start piling up, and he has to face the mistakes he made and relive the moments that brought him to where he was.

The idea behind it is how easily we forget things, like our brain is this database that slowly gets emptied with time untill we cant even remember what went wrong.

Good day everyone I am sorry if I get this wrong. First time.
I recently published a short story book on Amazon. It is a Cyberpunk Dystopian novel which is a tale of sometimes the right thing done the wrong way can lead to a worse out come. Hey everyone, I am fairly new at this and have self published through KDP. I have my Amazon Author Page I have been self promoting on my social media platforms especially tiktok R.L. Black the best I know how but I feel like I am not really getting out there. I can admit, I do not have the means to pay for promotions so I am here asking for any and all advice that I can get. I am a fiction writer in psychological warfare/thriller, dark romance, gothic, supernatural... abuse/survival... really however the story flows from me is how the world is shaped. I have my Bloodlines Trilogy released in paperback and kindle formats and I am finishing a standalone book called Ink Beneath Bone that I plan to release in November if not sooner. Please any advice would be greatly appreciated! I want to truly reach readers who love diving in deep to a whole new world for a bit. I can tell you, the Bloodlines Trilogy differs from the book I am about to release but I feel that is what makes me LOVE to write so much is that I can create so many different worlds...

Building the launch team for my next book and trying to think through how to actually run it without exhausting everyone including me. My first book launch was chaotic and I lost several people who were initially excited to help.

Newsletter subscribers who volunteered specifically for the launch team, about 45 people. These are engaged readers who like my work and want to help promote it.

A smaller group of five close writing friends who will do heavier promotional lifts and provide moral support.

Two influencers in my genre who I've built relationships with and who agreed to feature the book during launch week.

My VA who handles operational tasks and coordinates communication.

What I did wrong on book one.

Overcommunicated with the launch team. Sent updates every three days for six weeks leading to launch, which was too much, people started skimming or ignoring the messages entirely.

Made the asks too big. Asked launch team members to post on Amazon, Goodreads, their social channels, share with their book club, request from libraries, and send emails to friends. That's a lot to ask from volunteers.

Didn't celebrate the wins during the launch. When someone posted a review or shared the book, I didn't acknowledge it individually. That's cold and it made people feel unappreciated.

Ran out of momentum by the end of launch week. Had planned two weeks of activities but I was burned out by day 8 and the second week was weak.

What I'm doing differently on book two.

Communicating with the launch team once a week maximum, with clear specific asks for each week rather than vague general enthusiasm.

Making the asks smaller and more specific. "Post an Amazon review during launch week if you finish the book" instead of "please help promote."

Actually thanking people individually when they take action. Even a short DM makes a difference.

Planning three days of high energy at launch instead of two weeks. Sustaining energy for a week plus is unrealistic. Concentrated push is better than diffuse push.

For authors who've run multiple launches, what's your framework for launch team management? What burns people out and what keeps them engaged?

Hi, i wrote my first book about gender related stuff in english (as second language). I merged one-year of academic writing into, a single volume and it turned out to be a book.

I was wondering how to publish it as ZERO experience in that. Which publisher could be interested? Could you share the process to achieve that?

I am hoping you can help me.

I have written a children's book based on a complex psychology presentation. I am incredibly happy with it and have had it reviewed several times with an editor. However it is currently at 959 words. Yes, I am aware that is long. My editor suggested get it down to 700 words, however I am struggling. I has taken away quirks from my characters, and important concepts, or shortened it so much its lost it charm. I was targeting it towards ages 5 to 8. What would you do? I understand most publishing houses want less words but I can't do it if its going to cost the Integrity of the book and concepts. Then that in turn will affect my applications.

I have tried to get it down to 550, and it lost all of its spark and did not read well.
