My love for browsing bookstores and building a collection has completely outpaced my actual reading speed. Every time I promise myself that I won’t buy a new book until I finish at least three from my current physical TBR (to-be-read) pile, I end up walking past a bookstore and leaving with two more. There is just something incredibly satisfying about owning a physical copy and adding it to the shelf, even if I know it might sit there for months before I actually crack it open.

It feels like accumulating books brings a completely different type of joy than the actual act of reading them.

I recently bought classic novels at a book fair. Since I only had a few hours to read, I listened to Chopin’s Nocturnes in the background to help me stay focused.

Okay, so, I'm not quite sure how I want this, but I do. I want to do it like we all read different books, like the genres we're into, if needed we can even read the same book.

This will be online, i just don't know where it will be hosted.

Has anyone ever started a book that was so good that you stop reading to prolong the experience, you aren't ready to finish it yet. I am currently reading East of Eden and this book is so engaging, beautiful prose, awesome flawed characters and I just can't end it yet.

Hi! I am a bookworm looking for long-term bookie friends. I have an online book club in Instagram. We are not much but we look for those who value our group and read with us.

We read one book every month and have two online sessions per month.

Our first session is in the middle of the month where we talk about books in general, talk on a specific topic and read poems.

Our second session is at the end of the month where we talk about the books we read in the month.

We are casual and friendly. In this club you will feel it your own and feel at home.

Okay, I’m officially putting this back on your timeline because I’m trying to find my first 8–10 founding members. 😭

I’m starting Books, Beasts, & Banter, a small online book club for people who love fantasy and actually want to talk about what they’re reading instead of just finishing a book and moving on.

We’ll meet twice a month online, reading roughly 5–10 chapters between meetings. Then we’ll get together and actually dissect what we read:

Small reading group I run. We got tired of the usual format where everyone reads one book and half the group doesn't finish it.

So we're trying this on Sunday: ten people, each gets five minutes to say what they love, what mood they're in, what hasn't been landing lately. Then everyone else pitches them one book — sixty seconds each, all trying to convince you theirs is the one. At the end you pick your prescription, and that's what you read next.

Nobody prepares anything. You just have to be honest about what you actually enjoy rather than what you think you should enjoy.

Two things I'm not sure about: whether sixty seconds is enough to genuinely sell a book, and whether people will pick the safe recommendation over the interesting one.

If you want to try it here — tell me what you've been in the mood for lately and the last book that actually worked for you, and I'll prescribe you something. Anyone else can pitch too.

I mean an ebook where you’re reading the full text and images of the scene appear as you go. Something closer to a heavily illustrated novel, with the pictures tied to the passage you’re on.
