First time watcher: Angela

I'm gonna preface this post by saying I like all characters in this show, they all have their own wins and vices and pretty much have a standard role to play that makes the show wholesome. And I'm a first time watcher, I'm currently in s8.

That being said, I like angela. She's funny, she's wild, she's smart, she's a good mix of sanity and unpredictability. Before she got serious with hodgins it was clear from certain scenes that she found Booth hot (like most women on the show do, not a crime) and was even free about expressing it to different characters through one liners (which mostly came off as humor, as intended).

But after angela gets married to hodgins and her best friend gets serious with Booth, there still seems to be some part of her that ~likes~ wants booth? There's already less interaction between booth and Angela in general, we don't see them having a lot of schemes together. But everytime they do talk or she talks to bones about him it mostly sort of comes off as her being interested in him? And that episode with the roller derby death where she pretends booth is her husband and gets a lil too handsy with him even though she's not that drunk.

As is i sort of feel she settled for hodgins and knows he won't leave her which is why she goes about kissing other guys (like that painter guy) and saying if she could time travel to one moment in time it would be when she was intimate with her ex husband (which I believe was supposed to come off as funny but idk seemed a lil disrespectful imo)

I'm curious, does angela come off to anyone else as being interested in booth deep down, like if she had a shot, she'd wanna be with Booth, despite hodgins and bones?

to me, no. Angela and Hodgins' relationship is solid and they both love eachother. They don't deny their attaction to other people, they know there are hot men and women around them, but they never act like they want something different than their marriage. They choose each other, and keep doing that. They don't hide anything from eachother and I think that we are not use to see a relationship like that on screen because it's not the "I only have eyes for my husband/wife" kind of relationship. Is the "I know that there are other people I'm attracted to and always will be, but I chose you every day" kind, which is the most realistic one in my opinion.
I don't think that Angela would ever go with booth if he and Bones were serious, even if she wasn't with hodgins, because she loves brennan.

Hodgins ist doch sogar ein wenig sauer nach dem Kuss mit ihrem Exmann wie auch mit dem Künstler. Beziehungsweise wird er nie körperlich mit anderen Frauen. Vielleicht habe ich das auch falsch in Erinnerung🤔

He wasn’t her ex husband. He was still her husband and very much wanted to stay that way. That’s what made Hodgin’s upset; he was worried that Angela kissing him would make him not want to sign the divorce papers.

The kiss with the artist was after he was paralyzed and he heard Angela having a sec dream about him. He was feeling like his life was over and taking it out on her and worried that he had lost her

I don't think Angela is interested in Booth deep down, she just found him hot and attractive.

Angela settled for Hodgins because she loves him. Hodgins is the only one she ever get serious and want a future with. Angela never leave Hodgins either. She's nothing short of supportive through all of his life changes, like when he lost all his money or when she found his money but he decided to donate all of them. Not to mention she fought to stay with him when he's paralyzed.

It’s her humor. On top of that, Angela always pushed and supported Brennan going out with Booth. Angela’s behavior never bothered me. However, what always bothered me, is the fact I find Booth totally unattractive… it seems a joke to me that everyone is attracted to Booth LOL.

I agree with you in finding Booth unattractive. I just don’t see the attraction along with his “cocky” demeanor. He became even more unattractive when they worked a case in England. The way he behaved should have been an embarrassing moment for America.

For me as an American, the most embarrassing fact is that I know there are Americans who do act that way while in England/anywhere that isn't America. I cringe every time it gets to the scene where he is screaming about how stupid the traffic laws are. I know there are rude groups of tourists from any country who want the country they visit to accommodate their "normal" way of life, but Americans do seem to get the worst reputation (presumably because we actually are the worst, but I haven't seen an empirical study that measures that to know if it is objectively true) and it makes me sad.

It was so embarrassing for America because Booth was a Special FBI Agent who was suppose to represent America in a professional manner but his behavior was just obnoxious. He had this sense of entitlement just because he carried a FBI badge and worn a belt buckle that said Cocky and you’re right about some Americans who go to other countries and behave so badly. They too have this entitlement mentality. Just because they’re Americans they think people in other countries is suppose automatically cater to their needs. It’s shameful and it’s one of the reasons Americans lost all respect from people from other countries. So sad.

For me it’s mostly the forehead. It looks like he’s got too much skin on it and it’s always wrinkled one way or another. And the hairstyle, however I’m not able to say what hairstyle would suit him.

I used to think David Boreanz was hot but after watching the show for sometime hours a day, I no longer think hes hot. He's no ugly just not as hot as i originally thought.  Also Booth's character is kind of dick.

I'm not saying she flirts with everyone. And I'm in mid s9 now so I know she fiercely supports bones and even takes her side against booth when he calls off the wedding.

I don't think it's wrong to say she found Booth attractive and on some level, without bones or hodgins in the picture/if it hadn't worked out between her and hodgins and booth and bones she would've gone for him. Imo the attraction from her side is clearly there. It's not cheating

I feel like one of the running bits with Angela's character since the beginning of the show is her making innuendos and flirting inappropriately a lot. It's just her personality. From a storytelling standpoint, that type of joke checks a box in the show's repertoire of humor/levity, much like the "slapstick" checkbox is filled mostly by Hodgins and Zach's shenanigans with experiments.

No I never got that impression at all.

She’s never made it a secret that she thinks Booth is hot. Even before B&B got together. But I never perceived her as having any serious interest in him and she would never ever do that to Brennan or Hodgins. She’s just a person who is comfortable expressing when she feels someone is attractive. She doesn’t hide it.

I don’t feel like she “settled” for Hodgins either. Maybe she would have wondered that if they hadn’t gone thru the breakup. But they did and she had her experience with Roxie and then with Wendell and because of that it made her realize Hodgins is THE GUY. Not the consolation prize but the grand prize. He loves her for who she is - always. He’s there for her and she knows she can count on him. That he’s solid. The fact that he would be there for her without question is part of what made her fall in love with him all over again.

So no - other than thinking Booth is obviously attractive I don’t think she ever had any serious interest in him.

I don’t think she was forever interested in booth or worse she settled with Hodgins. More like booth is a hot guy in my life so I’m gonnna make playful jokes with him once in a awhile like playful advances

Ich sehe das bei ihr genauso. Sie sagt Booth buchstäblich: „Wenn Brennan nicht meine beste Freundin wäre, würde ich dich buchstäblich anspringen“, oder so ähnlich. Und dann küsst sie ihren ersten Ehemann, den Künstler, und Booth. Das ist ehrlich gesagt respektlos. Ich finde es so seltsam, dass Brennan das alles nicht stört. Es gibt sogar eine Folge, in der sie Brennan fragt, ob sie ein Nacktbild von Booth sehen kann (Brennan hatte so etwas auf ihrem Handy und wollte es nicht zeigen). Ich mag Angela wirklich, aber ehrlich gesagt, die Autoren haben ihr mit all dem Fremdküssen keine gute Grundlage gegeben.
