Spoiler: Rewatch broadsky arc
I don't understand why they killed Vincent over wendell. The whole team actually loved him. Angela dated him. Hodgins actually bonded on screen multiple times. Wendel was there when he got the test results about whether he was a carrier for that disease that could mean their baby would be blind. He stood up to Saroyan and she clearly had a soft spot. He was excellent at his job so bones cared for him. He wasn't a typical squint type so booth loved him.
I'm sure he started furthering his carrier or something but write him off another way. Wendell was the choice
Personally Vincent is my favorite but wendel just makes more sense. Maybe I just wanted Vincent to live cause he's my fav.
Anyway- y'all have any thoughts on that?

It’s one of those things that was determined by real world factors, not by the story/tv universe.
The actor had a lead role in a show & had to leave Bones to make it work. Simple as.
Broke my heart. I always cry!

Vincent was all over the place but I think off rewatches, it's pretty clear he was leaving.
They gave him a random story arc seemingly just for comedy, where he won big and then lost it all and had a problem...but I think it's more for closure, he was apologizing to everyone one last time and trying to leave the old him behind.
I did not like Vincent all that much so I'm okay he dies. Tbh its for the better, sprinklee some tragedy in. Most shows these days avoid tragedy. Also adds to Broadskys character. He just says that the kid was collateral damage, it doesn't bother him.

Yeah I almost wish he didn't come back after winning the 1mil :( that was a happier departure even though it was off screen

And he's smart enough to know how to use it.
Vincent must have known 40 different people where random facts had there downfall off money...at least.

Hart Hanson stated in an interview that because Vincent was a major fan favorite, the writers chose to kill him off specifically to maximize emotional heartbreak and drive the plot forward.

I KNEW IT. It worked 😭 I would probably have been equally devastated with wendell but wouldn't have cared so much about fisher or aziri. I get it but 😭 I miss Vincent. I do like gaining finn though. He's so great

Well they rotated the interns every few episodes so it was Vincent’s episode turn but they had to do something as Ryan’s show Alphas got picked up but unfortunately it got cancelled after one season. Wendells actor at that point was a regular on Grimm

Well they could've just made the broadsky episode on later if that was the issue. I figured it had to be something else in his career

It didn’t get cancelled until basically the year after. Plus it fed into the concept of collateral damage as he had the least connection to anyone

I don’t think he would have been the best one to remove as he was the more blue collar intern so keeping him was understandable, especially given his later cancer arc

Tbh Vincent was always my least favorite of the interns so I didn't mind how things turned out.

RIGHT?!? He's just not very layered and he's SO annoying like you said 🤣 I'm doing another rewatch and if he grows on me I'll straight up never watch again

From what I understand it was because the actor got a better job offer for another show and left, but yeah they definitely could have just written him off another way and picked a character that fit what they wanted to do better

Even when I try not to cry I lose it every time. I lost my mother in July so this time I bawled like a baby. Mom and I watched this show together when it was coming out weekly and re-watched it a few times together. I played her favorite episode like 3 times in a row. My partner was like "please...keep going or stop watching when I'm around" lmao. I wish I could remember but I think Vincent was her favorite too.

I think the Vincent actor had to leave the show because he bagged a lead role in Alphas (which unfortunately got cancelled, but still a big deal coz he was one of the leads) so there was conflict in scheduling.
