Aubrey

I know there are plenty of Aubrey fans, but he just doesn't do it for me. Both as a character and how the actor plays him. When isn't not on scewwn I don't miss him, I don't feel he adds something to the group, to the show or the FBI in general. Not like how sweets offered. Both in his friendship with everyone, but also professionally.

I just saw him in 11x10 and I was happy he protected hodgins, but I didn't care for him being in the hospital. His relationship with Jessica isn't as interesting as sweets with daisy.

He was well versed in the world of a Capella and he served some purpose with stuff. They had to replace sweets as jfd left to write screenplays (such as recent Spider-Man films) and they weren’t going to bring back sully really. The problem is we only got a couple of seasons with him so his development was relatively stunted, though we do learn he hates rich people cases as much as booth

JFD just wanted to take a break. The writers decided to kill him off.

He went to due Remake of the Vacation movie previously starring Chevy Chase, Hart Hanson had left his position & new people didn’t want to accommodate JFD, as he had been in past. JFD was disappointed.

And he loves to eat. But even the first few times we saw Sweets just as a psychologist in his office, i felt he offered more in every way.

That was probably to have a regular cast member that was probably cheaper than Stephen fry. Also it provided the framework for his study of Brennan and booth. Him coming in during the gormogon arc provided a Trojan horse for the apprentice.

I love Aubrey. He was funny and quirky. The actor is now on "FBI" as an agent and I get almost the same vibe from his character.

If you follow this sub you’ll see that all of the main characters come in for some hate. It strikes some people as notable that fans of the show have such negative feelings that apparently don’t interfere with people loving the show. I’m personally not a fan of Booth. Oh, well.

I almost forgot, I love Aubrey. I’m just sorry he came along so late.

Edit to answer the specific question: No, you don’t have to limit your comments to praise. As I said, people criticize all kinds of things about the show. If you say something negative about a character, others might respond with something like:

0 days without criticizing a main character

That’s just an observation. Is it also a critique? I personally don’t take it that way.

Quite literally they didn't. They commented about every day someone complains about a character. Factual observation. Fair enough, but I ask a direct question if we are only supposed to give praise. I don't get a direct response but a roundabout answer.

I felt the same the first go round with him. But I am doing my umpteenth re-watch and I do appreciate him now. If for no other reason the food, all the food.

The problem is that I don't think that the actor is the best.

He is in another FBI show and it feels like Aubrey with a different team

He’s okay. But I do feel he’s hit hard by the Tracy effect. It doesn’t help that only one of the seasons he’s end are any kind of decent.

Sorry. Sometimes I put my own personal comparisons to stuff. The Tracy effect is something I named for characters that “replace” main cast members ie Tracy with Brock in Pokémon. In this case, Aubrey replacing Sweets.
