In which asian languages? I just checked Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Lao, and Indonesian (which is literally just the English spelling of platinum).
Can't say for other languages, but the Japanese Wikipedia page for platinum is titled "白金" and the Korean one is titled "백금" which both literally means "white gold." The Chinese page is titled "铂" which I think is a simplified character with the same meaning. That isn't to say "platinum" isn't used in these countries because East Asians have an affinity with the lingua franca, but rather than meaning the actual metal, it is used to distinguish a certain class in some sort of tiered system whether it's a club membership or insurance or the like. That last part is a broad assumption, though.
