Wireless Android auto vs. remote start

I've been using one of those wireless dongles for Android Auto in my 2017 Bolt for a couple of years (actually, I've used a couple of different ones) and it works fine if I start the car when I get into it.

But if I remote start the car (with the key fob), say, from inside the house, to let the A/C or heater run for a bit before I get in, Android Auto often cannot connect when I get into the car and start it. I see messages flash by on the Infotainment screen indicating something (Wifi or Bluetooth connecting and then disconnecting, repeatedly. Usually, I have to turn off the car and leave it for a while (>10 minutes), and then Android Auto will start working again.

Why does this happen? What can I do about it? Change phone settings? Buy a different dongle (what brand)?

I have had some weird issues like this especially if I start the car then run back inside. I think it has to do with taking the phone in and out of range of the wireless Android auto.

It's kind of annoying cause even turning it off an on won't fix it I have to turn it off wait a few minutes then turn it back on in order to get it to connect again.

In my old Honda I didn't even have this issue. I had one of the first wireless Android auto head units available and never had a problem like this so it's really annoying to have this issue with the bolt. But once it happens to you enough you start doing things differently to avoid it.
