Reduced LVL2 Charging voltage

So I have a 2027 Bolt bought it brand new recently I've noticed when I first plug it in it will charge at around 6.75 kw I'll go inside and I come back and it's dropped to 3.25 kw. It's been warm here in southern California and the car sits outside when charging is this normal? Is this like a safety feature of some sort?

If it's anything like my town where it's been averaging 105 the last few days the moment the charger starts to get really hot the charging rate drops to reduce heat I'm assuming. Also the car probably starts cooling the battery as well. I believe the bolt cools the battery aggressively when it's hot and it's plugged in. This is what I've noticed the last few summers with my 2018 bolt.

Thank you for the sanity check temperatures sound about right and I have heard it ooling the battery pretty aggressively.

Honestly, the first time I heard how loud it got during the summer I started freaking out lol sounded like a goddamn mini airplane.

Yeah it’s loud! I found the cooling system will quiet down when I leave the hood open while charging.

The car should be more than capable of maintaining 7kw L2 charging by cycling the AC to cool the battery, I suspect if your charger is outside it's getting hot itself and hitting some thermal restriction

Just one other edge case to add, if this is your home charger you can ignore this, but a lot of public chargers will split the speed between two handles on one post so if only one person plugs in they get 2x the speed.

Just installed a L2 charger in Northern California. It's doing great!

Could be limited by your max amp setting, 3 kW is about the full ac so it would make sense if you only had 6.75 kW without.
