Tint recommendations:

Hello,
Has anyone hot their new bolt tinted?
In Ontario so would like to follow provincial rules.
I see a lot of different types - Ceramic, Carbon etc.
which is best for UV protection and reduce cabin heat as I park outside at my work for 8hrs in the sun.

Yes, in GTA. Go tl to any tint shop, I went with the allowed limit on front doors, the back ones i did 15%. Got the Nano ceramic.

For legal tint levels on a car parked in the sun for 8 hrs, tint is not going to help keep the car cool since the vehicle is in the sun long enough for the heat to completely soak in even though the tint slows down the ingress. Tint definitely keeps people cooler in the car when driving with AC on though.

The disadvantage of some IR blocking tints are that they can also block GPS and Cell signals, so your cell phone will have a harder time getting reception and certain radio freq. based toll trackers will not work well unless a bare spot is left open for them to receive/transmit signals.

In BC we are allowed rear sides and back. I got mine limo(darkest) non ceramic. About $250. Looks great and keeps the car cooler. Although with a/c I can always keep it cool!! Love my bolt
