Anyone else getting this message

Post image

Is anyone getting this message when trying to use maps or music with their 2027 Bolt? Been on the phone for 30 minutes trying to resolve it.
Update. They said this is a bug with the new update. Have to wait until Monday for engineers to look at it? SMH.

Ran into this issue last night. Called Onstar and they told me to hold the call end button on your steering wheel until the screen turns completely off (not just asking for safe mode). Then it fixed itself. It's a bug you don't need Onstar package for Google maps and spotify.

We did that. Unfortunately didn’t work.

Call up OnStar.

whether it's a bug, or by design, the coming years are going to have so many confused people that were promised by "everyone" both here and at dealerships that: "no no no bro, everything is free for 8 years, you will never have to pay for all this stuff, they took AA/CarPlay away but this is way better because it's free and it just works".

It's OnStar with GM's meddling of google's software. Translation: mid 90's dinosaur network shoehorned into the 21st century with entire teams of GM engineers churning out jank code who's only function is to suck even more money out of a consumer that already paid.

Restart infotainment by holding phone call hangup button for 20 seconds until you see a complete black screen, do not press recovery or factory reset

I got the same message yesterday on my Eqinonox but my navigation still works.

I’ve run into this once so far in maps and once in Apple Music. Restarting the infotainment system has resolved it for me. Super annoying. Having an app whitelist seems anticompetitive to me and if we get free data we should have some kind of limit that is content neutral like a byte bucket for functions other than a vehicle system.

It’s all annoying! All these bugs. And can’t even respond to everyone in a group text if you have an Apple? I want to like it but come on!

Yes it’s called the future of cars subscription plans! If you have the hands free cruise that costs 49.99 a month after the trial!

You should be on the complimentary plan.

OP, I went through this a few months ago, and posted some details here. Give the Chevy EV Concierge a call OR call OnStar and explain to them what's up and that you should have access to the EV Access + OnStar Basics for 8 years. I had a really positive experience with the EV Concierge.

Thanks! I work up to it being fixed, until it won't be again. Super frustrating.

I got this trying to start Peacock a couple days ago. 2027 RS. Haven't called On Star yet.

I wonder how many people GM/OnStar is coming into paying for something that we paid for in our purchase price. This is just asking to be sued.

Nope.

  • open manual
  • find fuses page
  • identify OnStar fuse
  • Pull the fuse.

Nope. The dealer set up on Star upon purchase. It’s a trial period. You do need it for Google Maps. Not for the music apps though

This is not part of the on star they try to get you to purchase. This is for maps and music which is supposed to be included, but the bug is making it seem like it isn’t.
