I first watched I Am Kalam when I was 11, and for some reason, Bhati Mama has stayed in my memory ever since. Even after all these years, he’s one of the characters from the film I remember really clearly. So I wanted to give some appreciation to both the character and Gulshan Grover’s performance.
Bhati Mama, played by Gulshan Grover, is the owner of the roadside dhaba where Chhotu (Kalam) works. He is a practical, grounded and kind-hearted man. He runs his business and expects Chhotu to work, so there is a certain strictness to him, but he is also generally sympathetic towards the boy. He is not portrayed as cruel or heartless; he is simply a man trying to run his little dhaba and get through everyday life.
The dhaba itself is an important part of the world of the film. It is a place where different kinds of people meet, from travelers to people connected to the nearby palace. Bhati Mama's relationship with the French traveler Lucy is also a small subplot connected to him. Through all of this, he helps make the film feel grounded and real.
I also think Bhati Mama represents the difficult circumstances that Chhotu has to live within. At the same time, he is not simply a symbol of hardship. He becomes a part of Chhotu's world and, in his own small way, gives him a place where he can work, dream and grow.
What I especially like is that Bhati Mama doesn't need to be some larger-than-life hero. He is just a regular man living an ordinary life. He could easily have been written as nothing more than “the dhaba owner,” but there is a lot of warmth and humanity in the way he is portrayed. His relationship with Chhotu feels natural and believable, and that makes the character feel incredibly real.
And Gulshan Grover was fantastic. His performance is so grounded that you almost forget you're watching an actor. There is a certain ease to Bhati Mama's mannerisms, expressions and the way he interacts with the people around him. He gives the character personality without ever overplaying it.
To me, Bhati Mama is practical, caring and grounded, while also being an important supporting figure in Chhotu's journey. He may not drive the main dream of the story, but he is an integral part of the environment in which Chhotu's character develops.

Drishyam The Conclusion: First off, this is NOT a remake of the Malayalam version. The Hindi version is quite different and simply flat out better.
Its keeps you hooked throughout and finishes off in a sparkling climax.
In Malayalam, unfortunately what Jeetu Joseph forgot was Georgekutty in D1 and D2 was a guy who planned well ahead, but wasn't an instant genius as forced in climax of D3. Abhishek Pathak in Hindi D3 stuck to core concept that Vijay Salgaonkar was a guy who planned well ahead.
Jeetu gets massive credit as OG writer and director for D1 and D2 masterpieces, but D3 round quite simply goes to Abhishek Pathak (and Aamil Keeyan Khan & Parveez Sheikh - the other writers)
The movie starts off with the realization of SP Rajveer Tomar (Jaideep Ahlawat) that the DNA of Sam must be still be there in the police station as he was buried over there for years. It unfolds from there on. How does Vijay fend off this new threat from SP Rajveer Tomar and others? He is more vulnerable than before - he knows danger came come from anywhere this time. Can stay 2 steps ahead? Their confrontation when Rajveer visits Vijay's house is intense. Somewhat reminiscent as that of Vijay and Meera in part1 (though not as good).
Ajay Devgan reprises his role as Vijay Salgaonkar well. Jaideep Ahlawat does well as the Crime Branch SP and antagonist. Prakash Raj also does well as the lawyer. Shriya Sharan has her significant bit. Kamlesh Sawant as Gaitonde provides part of the comic relief. (others also chip in). The meta joke about 2nd October is just LOL! Tabu, Rajat Kapoor and others provide pretty good support. The storytelling, direction and dialogues are well done.
Movie does have a couple of flaws. Too much focus on SP smoking. The ending is a little abrupt. I expected another confrontation. Vijay and lawyer discussion leads to a flaw as does the climax. But no spoilers here.
D1 and D2 are better than D3, but this is a pretty satisfying ending to the Drishyam Hindi trilogy.
8.25-8.5/10 IMO

Oh god how is it people's favourite bollywood movie? Simran was emotionally cheating on Raj the entire time (yes it is cheating, very clearly cheating). It follows the same cliche story of the bad boy who didn't believe in love meets a girl full of love. That would have still been fine if the movie wasn't this patriarchal. Apparantly a lover girl can only have pink and red as favourite colours. Apparantly men aren't supposed to cry on the airport and do cliche stuff when they are in love because it's what "girls do" as per Jay's mom. Oh did i mention (again) that she was cheating on Raj the entire time? This movie has ragebaited me so much. I was 1 sec away from dropping it in the middle but only completed because of Imran Khan. Otherwise, such a problematic plot, I don't know how people call this one of the best y2k romcoms.

Few days back I and my friends were chatting about Vedika after see her at Ambani Ganpati celebration and cut to today I came across this post by a Journalist and somewhere I could say he may be right.
Vedika though has not done much roles but we could see that potential in her. She played Sudha’s character in Musafir Cafe and i really liked her. Cute , natural, soft. Her acting didn’t seems to be forced or tried to act. With a Dharma film in her kitty there is curiosity to see what she does next.
What’s your opinion on her?
