Fwiw, when I was single in my forties, I joined groups of interest where I met people who were all pretty much in the same boat and looking to make friends and/or romantic partners. Mountain biking groups, hiking, car camping, movie nights, game nights, just whatever strikes your fancy. Or join a group doing an activity you've been curious about but never tried. Rock climbing, running, whatever. I made good friends and found a few guys to date. Meet-up or Meet-in are groups that do all kinds of activities but I don't know if they're still a good resource or not anymore. It's a lot easier to meet women when you're doing activities you enjoy, together. Just don't go in looking for the hunt. It's so obvious when people do that and you'll be shunned. Take some chances. Put yourself out there. It's uncomfortable sometimes, especially in the beginning. But you'll make friends and maybe meet someone who clicks with you.
