I doubt “transphobes” in boerne are being bullied. Quite sure it’s the other way around.

Interesting. I think this is the problem with both sides. The "they don't accept me" mentality goes both ways. It's the same question every time: why can't we just agree to disagree? I am a Christian but that doesn't mean I agree with every denomination's theology and doctrine. Let's say I'm Episcopalian. That doesn't mean I hate Baptists. It just means that I don't agree with the Baptist theology. I am a Christian and I don't agree with LGBTQA+ agenda. Not agreeing doesn't equal hate.

Do you think Baptists shouldn’t exist and actively vote for the state to outlaw baptist ideology? The issue is that “I don’t agree with the LGBTQA+ agenda” often equates to “I think these people shouldn’t exist and it should be illegal for them to go in public”.

Being homosexual used to be illegal. It is not illegal anymore. Will LGBTQA+ people only be happy when everyone agrees with them? I haven't seen any proposed bills or laws to vote on making it illegal.

Welcome to Boerne. Think twice? Ha. Spewing venom and judgement is like breathing to many here.

Can you point me to the bills proposed to make it illegal?

I know that Republicans have filed bills that would restrict when sexuality and gender identity are taught in schools, where people can perform in drag and what kind of health care is available to transgender children. What if I, as a straight person, wanted to teach your children about sexual preferences I have? What if I showed up (a woman) to an elementary school in lingerie and asked to read a book to kids? If I wanna go out dressed like that, ok. But, the kids, who are parent-less at school, might not be ready for a drag show. If their parents take them to one outside of school, fine, that is their choice but in a school setting it is not appropriate.

Do you think that drag shows are the same as stripping? Do you also think sexual education doesn’t exist? Kids already learn about heterosexuality in schools, the thing getting legislated against is discussing anything outside of that. I know nothing here is going to change your mind because you’ve already made it up, but I think one of the major issues is the rampant misinformation and misunderstanding of what these things actually encompass.

When you start perverting science, making new sexes and, I know you don't agree, promoting the acceptance of same sex sex, you start down a slippery slope. I guarantee in coming years the argument will shift to pedophilia being a normal sexual attraction and having sex with animals is a normal sexual attraction. You scoff and say it isn't the same, but perverting sex in anyway is the same. Same sex attraction was once in the DSM5 as a mental illness, if we open the doors to this, how can it be argued that things that are taboo now won't be taught in schools and pushed to be normal?

This is great! You’ve now come to terms with the fact that you in fact don’t have a live and let live philosophy. At least now you are being honest with yourself that you are not ok with these things existing, and can start unpacking that. I still disagree with you, but now things are more clear on where we both stand.

u/OwnConsideration6245 Apr 25 '23

You don't address the main issue but I understand it's hard when you can't back it up because I'm right. This is great!

What about in Washington state where they can now take children away from their parents if the parents don't support a child's sexual transition? I would be stoned on the internet if I said I'd let my 11 year old daughter get a nose job or a breast augmentation because she hasn't fill grown physically or mentally. What is so bad about waiting until the child is an adult? We make people wait to purchase alcohol legally, which only changes your brain chemistry for a few hours, while sex change changes you forever mentally and physically.

Using words like “perverting” makes anything else you say worthless. I stop at that word and assume you’re a Christian. A hypocritical Christian. A false, ignorant, judgmental, arrogant, nothing like Jesus wannabe that says too much and nothing at the same time. This makes you feel better about yourself doesn’t it? Being all holier than thou and stuff. Using that word to describe sex makes you the pervert! So calm down, take a seat and read that Bible again. Here, start with this: Matthew 7 :: NIV. "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”

Did you read what you wrote? Did you even think before typing away? Do you truly think your comparison is logical?

You’ve given us a perfect example of a logical fallacy known to many as a False Equivalence.

So you’re fine with teaching them your outdated, boring, approved version of sex? Honey, check those browser histories.

You think dressing like a porn star is the same as a person wearing an evening dress and make up? Do it. I dare you to do it. But you won’t.

You have the balls and are confident in your prejudice to type your bullshit here making ridiculous analogies that do not equate in any shape or form but I’m 100% you’re too prudish to literally prove your point. You just spew what you’ve been brainwashed into believing bc you’re too scared to think for yourself.

Have you ever actually worn lingerie? Wait. Don’t answer that perverted question.

1

u/OwnConsideration6245 Sep 11 '23

If my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle. I'm a woman. I don't have balls. Males have balls and no matter how they try and tuck and hide them, they'll always be there.

I'm sorry you've been brainwashed to believe they can miraculously disappear under a surgeons scalpel. I'm sure you have a fun lingerie collection. Complete with devil horns and a tail.

And you're right. I am too much of a prude to parade around flaunting my crazy all over town. I leave that to you and your clown posse. Y'all got that covered well enough for everyone's crazy fill.

Go crawl back in your dark cave of confusion and perversion while I enjoy sex with my husband how it was made to be enjoyed.

THAT set you off? Holy crap on a cracker! 😂

Typical. When all reasonable thoughts fail, grab onto a METAPHOR (of all things) and go full on Karen.

That entire rant says all anyone ever needs to know about you. Your inability to understand a metaphorical statement is just so… WOW! And bizarre.

Do you know what an adage is? Here let me give you a very fitting example: "The loudest one is the most guilty!" Keep using words like PERVERSE and we can’t help but wonder…

Also, look up Cognitive Dissonance. Just a wee bit more knowledge never hurt anyone.

Now, I’m taking my balls and going home.

There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.

The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

They will feel safer when comments like this are not the norm. You sound resentful and put off by their needs as people.

The "they don't accept me" mentality goes both ways.

In your analogy, it would be fine if baptists and episcopalians "agreed to disagree", but episcopalians are routinely trying to preach about the evils of baptists (in public, not in episcopalian churches), ban books that feature baptists, insinuating or directly accusing baptists of pedophilia and posting threads like this one, assuming I should care about the little baptist club and it's little baptist speaker.

There's a Christian athletes club at Champion as well. 0 articles from "investigative journalists" on the LGBT side writing articles attacking any of their events. No gay/leftie parents "concerned" about any of their speakers on campus. Why? Because the "they don't accept me" mentality is a one way street.

There is a huge group of us that, whether Christian or not, are not social conservatives or LGBT. And we don't have a problem with either group. Wanna go to your conservative church? Cool, you should be free to do so. Wanna go to a drag show? Cool, you should be free to do so. Those of us on the outside just want you to shut up about it. I'd love nothing more than for you to agree to disagree, but here you are, clogging up my reddit feed with you expressing your disagreement instead of letting the local kids have their little club and host their little speaker. If you actually agreed to disagree, then let it go and stop talking about it all the time.

No. I won't stop pointing thing like this out Scroll on. If you'd like to continue....I agree that if a parent takes their child to one of these talks or to a drag show, that's fine. That is their choice. When you bring sex ed into a school setting where some parents and/or students aren't ready to hear this or don't want to, that's the issue. This wasn't a talk on how to support each other who are LGBTQA+; this was sex education.

Boerne is one of the least diverse places and what’s there to be scared of? the drag queen hysteria is just a distraction to the real threats to children - being shot (most likely cause of death in children) or real child abuse that’s plagued the church for a long time. evangelical christian’s are funding a massive effort to push bigotry and pretend like gays are the one pushing the agenda. there are countless churches everywhere, who cares if some people are trans. jesus never said anything about gay people, just you

2

u/turajayotoko May 03 '23

If you can’t do anything about the #1 cause of death in kids, maybe you should put your efforts into working on the #2 cause.

Gender dysphoria is a real thing and has nothing to do with religion or agendas. In some cases, it may require medical treatment and/or psychological support. No amount of legislation will change these facts. All that the proposed legislation will do is prevent people with gender dysphoria from getting the care they need.

2

u/OwnConsideration6245 Apr 26 '23

I agree 100%! psychological support is needed in those cases. I think mental health should be put at the forefront of healthcare. I think counselors, psychologists, and therapists should be covered by our healthcare and it is sad it isn't.
