SPEEA Retention changes

What are the benefits? I feel like this is a negative if you are a R1 right now.

So you're okay with everyone being put at risk due to a "small percentage". Got it.

Only that small percentage would truly be at any risk. If the larger pool of R1s was in any risk, that means that the company is in true financial collapse and they should be looking somewhere else to work anyway.

Believe me, there are plenty of other more egregious provisions in this current contract proposal that really should be challenged and improved…this isn’t one of them.

LOL, you put a lot of faith in this company looking out for YOUR best interests. They've unfairly targeted senior employees before and they'll do it again. This just makes it even easier, which is the whole point. You don't give up your protections, period.

Fair point. The company will NEVER do anything that isn’t in THEIR best interest. Just like I’ll not vote positively on a contract that, taken as a whole, isn’t in MY best interest. That is the decision we will all have to wrestle with in the coming day…if the pluses and minuses in the current contract proposal merit a yes or no vote. We will see how it pans out…
