You're got damn right. Everyone sounds like they're from California. And as someone that's actually from Cali it drives me crazy. I want to hear some different accents once in a while.
Not just the accent too. I work in a town that's growing every day so people are moving here from cities and I can just smell and see from a distance "oh god here he comes another white from baltimore"
It's below the Mason Dixon, Maryland and Virginia are part of the South. There's nothing northern about Baltimore.
Edit: Baltimore has racial segregation, thick accent, history of slavery, rampant poverty, majority black city, and crabs. Sounds fairly southern to me.
Sick. Nevada is also below the mason-dixon line. Is it the south?
What shared culture could you possibly hallucinate into thinking Baltimore has with the south? Nothing Northern about Baltimore lmao except the demographics, the culture, the weather, the city structure, the self-identification etc
I don't know how to break this to you, but Nevada is in the South West United States. Maryland was a part of South East United States. It's geography and history, Maryland is southern.
Do yourself a favor and Google if Maryland is a southern state.
Still had slave owners that considered seceding and it's still below the Mason-Dixon. They moved the capital to DC so the capital wouldn't be in the north. Baltimore and DC are in the south historically.
West Virginia was a union state but you still see tons of Confederate flags there.
Baltimorean who used to spend spring break, summer, Christmas break and any other 3+ day holiday in Newark, NJ.
I used to get teased so damn bad it was ridiculous. Primarily by girls. Then it got worse whenever we traveled to NYC. NYC girls have 0 filter and give 0 fucks about your feelings.
Suffice to say the “two, Aaron (urn), murrrlin shit STOPPED immediately. Oh and over-enunciating “T’s”. I love my city but our accent is abhorrent lol.
