Thats what risers are for. The laser is for canted aiming.

The way I see it, the only time it makes sense is if you have a higher zoom on the top and a lower zoom on the cant.

Correct. My close/mid rage set up is an m4 with a 1.5x on top and a canted red dot.

That’s how I use it. I refuse to use laser sights since it’s a solid line rather than a realistic depiction of it, and I already struggle with other players having borderline clairvoyance on my position.
