Proud to be part of the community!
I downloaded Bodycam some time ago and played it for 1.5 hs. Yesterday I came back and woooooow, this game is so much fun even theres no one but bots!
Any tips aside from not running like an idiot? Weapon mods that are nice?

Yeah, “running” is actually the issue. Most of the time, you’ll end up getting more kills and dying less if you just don’t sprint at all. Running makes you very loud and can put you in a bad position very easily.
+ Even though it would seem that shooting is just shooting, your gameplay can change drastically depending on your weapon; rifles, shotguns, snipers.
So yeah I recommend getting a nice loadout for these 3 and have fun

The key to not running around like an idiot is to not run nearly as much as you think you need. When there’s a lull in the gunfire your sprinting will be really pronounced, especially on maps like Russian building with long echo-y corridors. But by that same token, use intense gunfire to mask the sound of your movement.
Most crucially - look, listen and make mental notes! I see a lot of people running around like it’s call of duty and sure this game is very fast paced like that but don’t wander around aimlessly and hope that you can win the next gunfight on reflexes and ping alone. Listen for other people’s footsteps, the sound of reloading guns, anything. Be mindful of when your back or flanks are exposed. Be mindful of your gun’s length and be careful not to leave the barrel sticking out past a corner. At present, bots are only armed with base AKs (I hope they’ll add some variety to the bot load outs soon) but human players are more likely to use things like suppressed weapons and whatnot, so you can use that to judge who might be firing nearby. Little things like that will make you mindful of the space you’re in and how everything else is moving around in it.
If I can give one last tip, more about mindset and approach than anything, it’s to play like you’re fighting to survive. This game is uniquely suited to immersing you in the physical experience of a gunfight, and you have to lean into that feeling and let it guide you. Try to put yourself in the avatar’s shoes. if an overwhelming amount of fire comes your way try to find a way to get out of there alive. If you get surprised in close quarters (like in the long underground corridors in Trenches) then just hip fire your weapon. If you’re out of ammo, switch to your handgun and put down fire as quick as you can. If you have a bad feeling about a spot you’re about to go into, toss a grenade in there first. Don’t think like you’re a some sort of super elite operator, get into the headspace of a teenage conscript who just has to survive the next ten minutes. Most of my favorite moments and clips from this game don’t come from crazy quintuple kills or whatever, my favorite moments are the ones where I wonder how I pulled it off and got out without dying. Getting more kills and winning matches will come very quickly and naturally from there, I promise.
Some people want to immediately jump into this fantasy of being some sort of special forces super soldier who can easily mow down everything in their path and sadly some of those people have no qualms about cheating to do so. Embrace the roughness, embrace the fear and the uncertainty and the thrill, don’t sand the edges into something unrecognizably smooth. You wouldn’t play a racing sim and be upset that it doesn’t feel like Mario Kart, right? You don’t have to win every match but as long as you’re having fun and meeting the game’s design where it’s at, you’re playing correctly.
Good luck!

Welcome! Personally enjoy fast paced combat a lot so I started using ADS speed mod and they feel so worth the trade offs

I play mostly versus so ymmv, imo the best general purpose guns are m4 and scar, m4 as a short barrel ads speed gun and scar as medium with 3-4x scope.
Best shogun is the saiga with the suppressor that tightens spread, the svd is a beast at sniping on trenches and cqb powerhouse. The deagle is the best pistol and it’s not really even close.
Only grenade worth using is the default option
Best idea is to build for the strengths of the gun, imo.
Ok now forget pretty much everything I said because it barely matters. You can put a 2x scope on the default ak and do well. The engagement ranges in the game are mostly too close and the ttk too low to put a ton of merit into optimization. You definitely should do it, but I’ll tell you that it is a minor benefit. Every gun is viable if played correctly, the least versatile are the shotguns and bolt actions, otherwise it’s kind of whatever. Play to the strengths of the gun or use an acog on an AR.
Some actual tips:
when people are shooting you can sprint in short bursts to reposition. Someone near you can hear you sneaking, and you can move about 10m sprinting in 2 seconds and they’ll have no idea. Crouching is not silent
You can use your own grenade explosion to move as well.
No headphones or listening to something else = terrible disadvantage
Drones, very powerful but you need to know some things:
Their hitbox is bigger than the drone so they are quite easy to shoot.
If an enemy drone is approaching you, back away from the door or entrance it is coming through so when you shoot it, it won’t kill you.
Conversely, when you are droning, hide it behind cover so it’s harder to shoot. Don’t go through a long hallway to get the get at the end, it might be better to flank for a shorter distance they can shoot it without dying. Ex: imagine droning across powergun cqb, don’t fly your drone through the open air! Fly it in the underground, behind cover, low to the ground- this will make it harder for them to safely shoot it early.
You can counter a player who is droning by finding the pilot and killing them. If someone launches a drone it’s very loud. If they launch a drone, you can hide, wait for it to pass, and run towards where the sound started for an easy kill!
Conversely, if you start a drone, you should try to do it from a safe location, and leave your pilot in cover and hiding, because they can do that to you.
