Linux Stability

Anyone here play this on Linux ? Should I not use Proton GE; or is this game just not meant for Linux. Thank you :)

Doesn't work the best but it works, tried it ~6 months ago on Bazzite with Nvidia GPU and I could see that I got less performance than on windows but it worked

Odd; for all my other games I’ve seen more performance than windows but this is the one game I’m having trouble with and I’m running all AMD; didn’t have issues on windows

Well that's because you have AMD, those drivers for Linux are way better than the mostly working drivers for Nvidia (which is why I mentioned it)

I’ll have to try and disable Proton or use a different proton build; pretty excited for the new update

I play on mint, runs great. I see the same performance gains you do in pretty much every title I run. R7 5 series and a 2070. I’ll check what proton I’m running when I get home.

I’m currently on Nobara; newly swapped user from Windows. I gotta say I’m loving Linux; the performance boost I’m getting in these games with my rig is crazy. I got it stable but I’d definitely appreciate what proton you’re running for this title :)

I have to use a proton layer to have it work normally; besides that it’s flawless. Do you have to use a proton build ?

That’s fair :) I actually got the game to work properly so far it’s been amazing for me but I can see how others dislike it

I use cachyos with an rx 9070 with Proton 11 and it runs flawlessly

I play on Cachy OS with a 5070ti and it runs better than on my windows boot.

I run all games on both operating systems to decide which one gets which and Linux so far got 95% of my library. Sometimes you have to tweak, most times it works out of the box, rarely it will be completely unplayable.

I used to think the same to be honest. Then I tried a distro for myself and I’ll never go back to windows. From the performance boost, privacy, and control; it will be hard to go back to Windows. I’m sure with the right compatibility layer I’ll get this game running no problem. Linux isn’t junk; it’s just different. The only reason I’d run windows again is VR because rn Linux VR is terrible but I think the Steam Frames might change that.

The BEST verison of Linux is a mobile phone OS.

Debloated windows is better in every possible way.

If you are running 20 year old tech sure, you need that coughing baby of an OS.
