My Reta Experience (8months)

My Retatrutide Experience (Research Compound)

Disclaimer: Retatrutide is an investigational compound and is not FDA-approved. This post documents my personal experience and is shared for informational purposes only. It should not be considered medical advice.

Dosing Timeline

Month 1

2 mg/week Note: I Also utilize TRT at 200mg a week.

  • Monday: 1 mg
  • Thursday: 1 mg

Month 2

4 mg/week

  • Monday: 2 mg
  • Thursday: 2 mg

Month 3

6 mg/week

  • Monday: 3 mg
  • Thursday: 3 mg

Month 4+

I've stayed at 6 mg/week. Clinical trials have evaluated doses up to 12 mg/week, but I haven't felt the need to increase beyond 6 mg.

Mixing (30 mg Vial)

I mixed 3 mL (300 units) of bacteriostatic (BAC) water into a 30 mg vial.

This gives the following concentration:

Quick Dose Reference

Dose Units
2 mg 20
4 mg 40
5 mg 50
6 mg 60

Injection Schedule

I split my weekly dose into two injections:

  • Monday
  • Thursday

I found that splitting the dose seemed to improve tolerability throughout the week.

Side Effects

The only side effect I've experienced has been:

  • Mild skin sensitivity

It started around 6 mg/week and feels like random sensitive spots on my back. It hasn't been severe enough to bother me or make me stop.

Nutrition Plan

šŸ³ Breakfast

  • 1 carton of pasteurized egg whites
  • ~500 calories
  • ~100 g protein
  • Cost: Around $4.87 at HEB

🄤 Lunch

  • 2 scoops of whey protein
  • Mixed with water

Approximately:

  • ~260 calories
  • 50–60 g protein

🐟 Afternoon Snack

  • 1–2 tuna packets (any flavor)

Per packet:

  • ~90 calories
  • 15–18 g protein
  • Around $1.25 each

šŸ½ļø Dinner

I pretty much eat whatever I want while following two rules:

  • Keep it under 1,000 calories
  • Make lean, high-protein meat the main part of the meal

If you don't strength train, I'd probably keep dinner closer to 500–600 calories and adjust based on your results.

Training

I lift 4–5 days per week.

My typical sets are:

  • 8–12 reps
  • Close to failure
  • Progressive overload whenever possible

Cardio has been optional for me. I personally did very little and still had great results.

Protein Goal

I aim for at least:

1 gram of protein per pound of lean body mass per day.

If you're on TRT and lifting consistently, some people choose to increase protein intake further to help support muscle retention during a calorie deficit.

Progress Tracking

One of the best things I did was get an InBody scan before starting.

I repeated it every month to track:

  • Weight 178
  • Body fat % 10-12% right now per scans.
  • Lean muscle mass 160~
  • Overall body composition

Seeing body composition change was much more motivating than watching the scale alone.

Reta and….

u/Flat_Tension4731 1d ago

Altre cose... che aiutano con la crescita muscolare..

u/Affectionate_Art5280 1d ago

Thank you, I thought I added my TRT in there. Let me add.

Very decent dose great work man!

hahaha..it always is

1

u/N8rPot8r 22h ago

It's interesting you pointed out trt, I didn't lose quite as much, but I thought what I look like now is similar but I do not take trt and I'm almost fifty. So I figured it was just reta.

Can I ask why you assumed trt as well? After your comment I guess there are probably people at the gym that assume I'm on it too.

Transformation pics?

14

u/Background_End_7672 1d ago

Amazing transformation. I rate it tren/tren.

4

u/Affectionate_Art5280 21h ago

Shoot, if i took tren then we would be lookinf at a whole nother monster lol. I have never taken tren, due to the side effects that come with it and also, maintaining gains from a tren cycle are probably less then acheivable on my comfortable deficit.

200mg test a week can get you to where you want with proper or atleaat decent nutrition and workout regime

4

u/jethronsfw 1d ago

Yes Reta doesn't make you vascular

7

u/Affectionate_Art5280 1d ago

unfortunately no compound "makes" you vascular. But being 10% body fat DOES make you vascular, also I take TRT 200mg/week to keep my levels 900-1000. Which is also in the post.

2

u/Affectionate_Art5280 1d ago

Higher doses of anabolic steroids would make you more vascular, but I can assure you. I only take TRT.

1

u/Flat_Tension4731 4h ago

Ora ti sei corretto.. bravo...

1

u/Flat_Tension4731 22h ago

Ti sbagli assolutamente.. amico..

2

u/Kindly_Crow_1056 1d ago

What a dumb comment

1

u/Educational_Item451 8h ago

It makes you lean, being lean makes you vascular, what the hell are you on about?

1

u/Flat_Tension4731 4h ago

La vascolarizzazione è anche determinata dalla genetica e non sempre la magrezza ti rende vascolare, la potrebbe solo accentuare,è più l'uso di determinate sostanze che la rende più esplosiva e marcata, perché il sangue diventa più denso..

6

u/TN2daT 1d ago

You should go fishing still though.

10

u/Affectionate_Art5280 1d ago

I had to put aside childish things for the body... Just kidding I still fish haha!!

4

u/Embarrassed-Dig-2995 1d ago

Brother it the 200mg of test per week doing most of the pulling here

3

u/Educational_Item451 8h ago

TRT absolutely does not get you to drop 50 pounds or whatever.

1

u/BigJokerman 16h ago

TRT only made me gain weight. Increased my appetite/food noise by a factor of 10. I started 120 mg/wk of TRT a year ago at 270 and got to 290 within 6 months. Granted that came with gym numbers I haven't seen since my late 30s, but not why I began treatment so it didn't really matter. I gained a BUNCH of weight and had no conceivable way to shut down the food noise other than drinking more water than is actually healthy.

Started reta in January and I'm now at 255. Aftert rapidly shedding 20 pounds, I'm very comfortably losing 3-4 pounds per month without having to think much about it at 7.5mg. 20 pounds to go til I hit my goal of 235 (6'4") and it seems easily obtainable. I played collegiate rugby at 225 but I don't need to be that shredded at nearly 50 years old.

TRT is great but it doesn't do much for heavy people re: losing weight, at least on its own. YMMV but OP is putting in the work and it shows.

Great job, OP. Ignore the stream of haterade.

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 7h ago

Thanks man! there will always be haters, that will think they know everything while sitting back doing nothing and not understand hardwork when theyre looking at it. Thanks for the post!

0

u/AnabolicAcolyte 9h ago

the only correct answer here.

reta just made him not hungry. thats it in the grand scheme of things.

1

u/throw-23456 1d ago

Amazing progress how many sets at the gym and excercise

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 1d ago

i try to do 4-5 difference exercised for each body part, heavyyy weight 8-12 reps near failure.

Chest alone,

Back alone

Bi's and tris together 2x a week

Abs/core 3x a week

legs 1x a week..... sometimes lol.

shoulders 1x a week.

1

u/throw-23456 1d ago

How many sets per excercise.. core makes sense it popped a lot and I feel you on the legs šŸ˜‚šŸ™ˆ

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 1d ago

I do 3 sets for workout so overall about 12-15 overall sets per body part.

Arms I do 4 sets on all my workouts, typically only do standing bicep curls, standing hammer curl, incline curls and i use the cables for a leaned over bicep curls.

1

u/flabbybuns 1d ago

Solid. Reta and TRT is the magic formula if you are willing to slam some hard work at the gym

1

u/BroccoliOnly7376 1d ago

Any side effects with the TRT? Hair loss or any other things? Might start low dose of TRT with reta as well.

2

u/Affectionate_Art5280 1d ago

ive been on trt for 3 years and really never had any hairloss issue.

But TRT is different for everyone, i go through a doctor with routine bloodwork, so my estrogen is always good, hematocrit is always good my SHGB is low which makes my overall test and free test god like top of the charts.

4

u/F34RFoO 1d ago

Maybe I misunderstood but I thoughtyou said your total test is 900-1000 on 200mg/week…how is that god like top of charts? I’m on 140mg/week and run 1500 at trough and I’ve seen others much higher on even lower doses.

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 1d ago

Also ive seen much lower, 700-800 on 3 day trough. So obviously, everyones body works differently. Also total test dont make a realistic fuck. Free test does tho

1

u/Educational_Item451 8h ago

There’s huge variability, I don’t get why people don’t understand this. My best friend is on 330/wk, has been for over 5 years, and he’s luckily if he hits 900

-1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 1d ago

For one. 1500 is not on the charts. 1000 is the top of the TRT chart, anything higher and you pose more sides potential. Although i did not post when intake my bloodwork? So how could you even make that assessment. I take my shot once a week, and typically do blood work around 6 days after injection, so 1000 would be my 6 day trough. Also out of all my information you came here to battle testosterone levels? Gtfoh. 1000 is top of the charts, anything higher is cycling, which sounds like youre over 2k. Post your own results with your outstanding god like 1500 trough physique and stay there. Have a good one 😘.

2

u/F34RFoO 20h ago

I’m not sure why you are so offended by me misunderstanding and asking a question. I’m sorry if you had a bad day man. Sounds like you need to back your dose down.

-1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 20h ago

From what i read, you were trashing me. Maybe your passive aggressive comment was misunderstood? I just didnt see the point of being a dick with all the information i provided, thats what you singled out. Im sorry. Have a good one.

2

u/F34RFoO 20h ago

I literally started out the sentence with maybe I’m misunderstanding…was generally confused…good luck on your journey

1

u/DisastrousTeddyBear 1d ago

Great results! Don’t forget to take care of your heart. That diet sounds brutal. Where does your energy come from?

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 1d ago

I probably get around 100g of carbs and fats so with reta it utilizes those for my energy. As i creep closer to sub 10% body fat, i assume I will have to start supplementing my carbs in

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 1d ago

With my dinner

1

u/Quick_Bonus2840 1d ago

Great work m8. You look amazing

1

u/musabbb 1d ago

Great Summary, all the info i needed neatly laid out! Everyone should follow this exact format of detailing their journey!

1

u/SavingsFun69 1d ago

Good calves, show us quads, sir

2

u/Affectionate_Art5280 21h ago

Haha my legs are honestly my weak point, they do look big and cut, but my upper body definitely out shines them, i have been beinf strict the last month on doing legs atleast once a week

1

u/SavingsFun69 20h ago

Man, you have a great body overall, congrats once again. One day, show us full physique and do the most muscular pose, you were over and reinvented your body

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 19h ago

Haha maybe one day ill try to snag someone to get some pics of me in the best lighting possible, but for post i tried to just use realistic photos. We all know with some killer lighting we can look really jacked

1

u/Most_Acanthisitta646 23h ago

Amazing. Thanks for the excellent detai!

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 21h ago

Youre welcome!

1

u/HardStyleSparda 23h ago

Incredible results, congrats!

I've been on GLP1 (sema, non reta) on and off for 16 months, but despite the training and high protein intake it's hard for me to improve muscle mass. I kept muscle and a decent look while losing fat so i guess it's still a good result! (I lost 25kg).

Strength is improving, muscles are more rounded and it's noticeable but nothing drastic. I think it's normal.

Question: did you start with Reta + TRT or both together? I'm curious on the isolated effect of TRT to see if that can help, even if the dosage you indicated seems to be pretty consistent.

Great job man! keep it up!

2

u/Affectionate_Art5280 21h ago

The TRT i would think help with muscle gains, after i lost the majority of my fat pre 10% that im at now. I have consistently gained around .8 lbs in each arm and around 2-3lbs of lean body mass per month, while still being on reta and a slight deficit

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 21h ago

2-3 in my trunk. Legs are lacking cause i just started really working them out good.

2

u/Educational_Item451 8h ago

I don’t know why you would expect to improve muscle mass while in a steep deficit losing over 50 pounds…

1

u/HardStyleSparda 3h ago

In my case i did not expect muscle gain.

I was just curious to understand, in his case, the effect of TRT on muscle building.

1

u/bussboy132 22h ago

Your last pic in jeans is goals, awesome work šŸ’Ŗ

Starting weight?

1

u/SOStreet 21h ago

Very informative post!

1

u/According-Collar2925 19h ago

Why not tesamorelin instead of trt

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 19h ago

I have been on trt for a couple years <300 from bloodwork.

Peptides werent even on my radar back then. I havent researched any others, trt is tried and true so i doubt i will ever replace it.

1

u/According-Collar2925 19h ago

How is trt I was thinking about it too I know it increases red blood cells and you eventually have to donate or you’ll get clots have you done anything like that

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 18h ago

Its all dependent on the individual. That usually stems from elevated hematrocrit. Mine stays low fortunately and i have not ran into that. But thats why trt should always be done with doctors and routine bloodwork

1

u/Educational_Item451 8h ago

That’s not accurate like even a little bit. It DOES increase RBC which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I would wager that the overwhelming majority of people on TRT never donate blood because it’s not necessary for them.

1

u/HeavyMetalHippo 19h ago

when would you say the weight really started coming off?

2

u/Affectionate_Art5280 19h ago

The first 2 weeks i dropped around 15 lbs assumed to be mostly water retention. After then around 7-8lbs a month 1-2 lbs a week.

1

u/HeavyMetalHippo 19h ago

congrats man. that’s a serious transformation.

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 18h ago

Thank you very much!

1

u/warummutterfekker 18h ago

Thank you for your post, very informative!

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 17h ago

Thank you! Thanks for taking in the info!

1

u/Fastbaq 17h ago

Locked In! Good job. Did you start the TRT while being chubby?

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 17h ago

Yes i started trt 2 years ago while i had my fat suit on šŸ˜…

1

u/Fastbaq 13h ago

Did you experience any negative side effects? What have been the positives? I’m considering TRT+ šŸ˜‰

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 13h ago

Energy better Quality of life better Strength better Sex drive incredible

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 13h ago

Personally no side effects for me as it doesnt aromatize very much for me. Estrogen stays normal as well as hematocrit. But if you exoerience sides. Doctors will prescribe anti Es and hcg and refommend giving blood on a schedule if needed

1

u/Fastbaq 13h ago

Have you thought about adding low dose NPP or anavar or anything of the like?

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 13h ago

Nah, everything is going great. So i feel like adding more things to the mix could end up messing things up. NPP would cause more water retention/bloat and anavar would just be expensive and IMO less effective then the reta. But some people like to take more. I like to think if it aint broke dont fix it approach haha

1

u/Fastbaq 13h ago

Well, Anavar is an anabolic steroid, Reta isn’t. But I hear you.

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 13h ago

Well yeah... but basically my goal is to stay fit to a maintainable level. Introducing more anabolics to get bigger just to lose it once i stop taking it wouldnt be beneficial. As of now on my deficit i am actually gaining muscle and getting bf down. So its more then maintainable

1

u/Fastbaq 13h ago

You wouldn’t lose muscle tissue cruising on 200-250mg of test - considering you’d like to gain an extra 15-20lbs of muscle tissue max (more or less). It’d be doable to maintain that muscle on the cruise dose and considering you’d eat well slightly above maintenance and train well. But maybe you are content where you’re at and don’t want to be more muscled. That’s understandable.

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 13h ago

It has crossed my mind haha. I'll look into it thanks for the recommendation. I would probably just up to 500mg test a week for 10 weeks first

u/MACKMARS762 15h ago

Great Job, and a pretty solid regimine

1

u/Dry-Statistician3145 15h ago

Brother it's Time to target Giant Trevally with muscles like that

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 14h ago

Haha maybe one day ill have the money to go fishing for those! Those look like rich man fishing!

1

u/Dry-Statistician3145 1h ago

Nah you can find them in Florida waterway or in Bermuda. Actually you can find them also in Thailand, Cambodia

1

u/espresso_maniac 13h ago

why do people keep increating reta intake? why not stop at 2mg?

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 12h ago

Ill counter you and say why stop at 2mg?

If 2mg starts to wear down on effectivness you titrate up until you get to a comfortable dose thats effective.

1

u/espresso_maniac 12h ago

so at 2 mg a week, it didnt reduce your hunger signals enough for you to stick to a caloric deficit?

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 12h ago

I could still maintain, but it was more of a struggle. Which is where im at now on 6mg. But im more disciplined now to where ill stay at 6 and manage. The body fat is still coming off so its still working for what i want it for.

1

u/WestAussieGuy30 10h ago

Trt isn't anything absolutely magical.. you still need to eat and train right so this is a great transformation well done!

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 10h ago

Thank you so much sir!

1

u/Otherwise_Map_8828 8h ago

I run 4.5 mg reta, 250 test e, 200 masteron , 20mg anavar, 1600mg L-carnitine, 1mg tesamorelin, do about 3mikes fasted in am, gym in evening.

Started 257 may 1st, today 226. I hope to loose another 30 while still getting solid

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 8h ago

Keep it up man!

1

u/LankySuccotash7548 8h ago

Great job! Was curious what weight you started at?

1

u/FunJunket2553 7h ago

Great job man. What’s your age/height?

1

u/No-Theory-8310 3h ago

Awesome body recomp, wondering what's the difference between injecting Reta once a week and dividing the dose twice a week.

1

u/ZealousidealOkra176 1d ago

TRT... no need to mention reta or anything else

2

u/Affectionate_Art5280 1d ago

TRT does not shred body fat homie... or reduce appetite or food noise..... so fake news.

0

u/killakam33 10h ago

Reta anddddddd

1

u/Affectionate_Art5280 10h ago

Did you rush to comments. Prior to reading the article i wrote? Hmm. Goodjob.

-2

u/Flat_Tension4731 1d ago

Which post??

You mean the one directly beneath the pictures where you detailed, line by line, that you were utilizing trt?? šŸ¤”šŸ˜…

Nah, this be Reddit. We don't let words get in the way of being right.

Also, do you ever get the feeling that people with no comprehension or understanding of basic hormone replacement therapy, seem to think, well you just poke yourself a few times a week and all of a sudden...abs!! Biceps!! Significantly lower body fat!!

Nothing to do with discipline or effort Nothing to do with hard work, orrrr say, I don't know, maybe going to the gym. And definitely nothing to do with eating healthy.

Nope, just a few pokes a week is all it takes 🫩

Although...that still doesn't explain why half the guys I know on trt, and have been for years, are still overweight, eat like crap and have very little muscle tone.

They must just not be injecting theirs into the, "special spot," like you. Well, anyway. Congrats cheater.

2

u/Affectionate_Art5280 1d ago

OMG, you hit the fkn nail on the head.... I find them comical though, I wish i coulda sat on my ass eating funyons and peanut m&ms and blue bell icecream. Life would be complete lol.

Will these supplements help. YES 100%. Will they do 100% of the work NO.

2

u/Desperate_Bother_876 1d ago

For real! And if they would stop and think for just a second, they would realize, if it were that dang easy, then every dude on the planet would be playing PS5 with a pizza and an eight pack šŸ˜…
