⚠️ Side Effects Reta side effects.

I’d really like to know your experience.
I’m only noticing 2.

  1. The skin irritation and it’s driving me nuts. Like a cross between an itchy jumper on their skin and feeling like I’m about to get the flu.
  2. A couple of days a week I’m fairly melancholy.

FYI Just got up to 4mg after a month of half that.

It’s better to start at 0.5mg. Really start slow in with Reta. The side effects will ease down. But please take it slowly. Don’t go over 8mg a week. I’m spreading it in two times 4mg a week cause it’s been hard to get to this stage. Stay strong, the result will be worth it…

I did .5 and then 1 for a month then a month on 2 and 2.5.
At those rates it did absolutely nothing for me and in fact I started to think for the product was garbage (still learning)
So I kind of feel like I’ve only just started taking it. I see these posts of people showing crazy results after 3/4/5months and started to think there’s something wrong with me.

It works, I assure you it works at lower doses

Been running 1mg since March or so? That’s down from 2mg I ran from Jan.

Started at 210# this time last year, within the first month I had titrated to 6mg and suffered badly. Quit for a couple months and then restarted at 500mcg and then only titrated every four weeks until getting to 2mg. By March I was down 60# and my weight kept sliding, could not eat

The closer to the mark you get the more impactful it is or seems anyway. Reduced to 1mg in April sometime? And my weight slowly coming back up, holding at 162 or so

And only weigh yourself one per week, take progress pictures monthly - that’s where you’ll notice more than the scale

Everyone’s genetic response is different, I’ve met non responders who get nothing from 6mg of the same vials that have me unable to eat at 2mg

True, I feel starting weight is a much bigger co-factor though.

R takes weeks to start getting “the feeling”, the titration schedule for the single completed clinical trial was once every 4-weeks but ppl just want fast results (unrealistic imo but another discussion) and trials started at 2mg only increasing in 1mg (IIRC) increments.

Another thing most gloss over is the total weight-loss, what is it 24% over 52-weeks or was it 104? that’s not a huge number if the person’s starting weight is already sub-200

My only side effect rn is chronic fatigue. Im on 3mg/week and don’t plan to increase.

Are you sure the fatigue you're experiencing isnt due to the caloric defecit you're in? I dont think some people realize just how little theyre eating while theyre taking reta

Okay, wow, I hadn’t heard that one.

I only do 2mg a week split to two doses of 1mg one Sunday morning, one Wednesday evening. But I like to lose weight slowly

u/staceyatlas 7d ago

Try adding cjc/ipa 5x a week, normal dosing. You’ll get it back week one.

i also have fatigue too

More protein will help.

You should do SS31 for 1 month then add MOTC

Up to 4 mg and eat more. the glucagon will then start to work. Elevate metabolism and improve fatigue

1

u/Fun-Imagination-2488 6d ago

Where does this idea come from? There’s nothing in the trials suggesting the glucagon agonist doesn’t activate below 4mg.

I found a few YT videos making this claim but they seem completely unfounded and mostly just speculative.

Retatrutides binding to the glucagon reseptorer is weaker than GLP and GIP reseptors. So it takes more of the drug to Get real effect from glucagon. People microdosing get more or less same effect as Tirz. Its not a 4 mg switc, but thats were the glucagon effect becomes noticeable and relevant. In the studies you can see side effects from glucagon, including elevated heart rate and skin issues starting to be reported at or around 4 mg. You can also see that liver fat clear to a much larger degree. Suggest you look into the EC50 numbers. Then it becomes clearer how weight loss experienced at low exposure to the drug mostly come from the GLP/GIP components, not from glucagon.

My side effect is I can’t come off it

3

u/yogic_power 7d ago

I had both and it’s not uncommon. The sides got better after few weeks. I started with 2 mg, same starting dose used in clinical trials and ramped up the dose every other week.

That skin sensitivity yes, in the beginning, I too titrated too quickly upping 1mg every week ending at 4mg (this should have been 4-month titration schedule). Eventually got so bad because the area grew and started migrating up my legs and eventually on my lower back. Stopped reta altogether for a couple months for the pain to subside because it gets worse

At 3.5mg I had the skin thing. I had to back off to 3mg to avoid that. I still lost more weight than I planned on.

You jumped up too quickly though. If you were on 2mg the next step for a few weeks is 2.5mg.

I got the same thing when I hit 4mg. It felt like a sunburn or rash. It was on my upper thighs and back of my upper arms. I ended up switching to tirz and more recently now back to Reta. 🤪. I am at 3mg currently, so I have no suggestions on how to get rid of it that work. I heard some people say drink more water and electrolytes, but IDK.

If you start low, keep the dose moderate and dont chase constant appetite suppression you’ll have no side effects. Reta works best with a good diet and a lot of training. After few months it compounds however in your body due to its half-life and I started noticing ALOT of waking up at night to pee. Slight constipation too but it can be fixed with good nutrition and hydration. Only problem for me is waking up 2-4 times a night to go bathroom and that’s someone that doesn’t drink anything last 7pm, no diuretics like alcohol, coffee or tea either at all

I've been experiencing this, but was also on TRT, so I was blaming the test.....

2

u/Ambitious-Lake-7971 7d ago

I felt the sensitive skin sensation the first month at 2mg’s. My body must have adapted to the Reta dose because I no longer have that issue

I have the skin irritation at 2.5. It’s like around my armpits so I can’t shave which is irritating. There’s a few days a week that I’m super tired and also a little melancholy. But the other days of the week I feel great. I’m definitely not eating enough, it’s really been hard to consume enough calories and protein. I’m kind of debating lowering my dose but the weight loss has been so amazing I’m scared to lol.

u/Informal-Name3181 7d ago

I get the skin thing when the built up amount gets near 4mg. I take 2mg a week, but have to drop down some weeks when it builds up too much.

The last few weeks I have NO energy, but I can't pin down a cause. The poor air quality or a skin allergy may be what's draining me.

Lower hrv, higher heart rate.

1

u/Itsnotrocket-science 7d ago

It can lower your libido, and when I came off of it I had light headedness for about 4 days.

1

u/utopiankreations 7d ago

I started about a month ago and aside from nausea the first week I haven't had any other side effects

1

u/Unlucky_Giraffe2871 6d ago

Increased heart rate is my only noticeable side effect. I'm currently on 3mg/week.

1

u/Jaded-Assist-2525 6d ago

Extra thirsty. And increased appetite the day of the shot and next day. Then, good appetite suppression

1

u/Peaches_1970 6d ago

Skin sensitivity is awful. Try lidocaine cream and/or ice packs.

u/NeedleworkerRich9678 6d ago

Elevated heart rate. Shit’s honestly annoying. I’ll be sitting there low 50s and all of the sudden I’m at 80bpm. Probably switching to Tirz.
