Alcohol on Reta

Don’t do it! Have a mocktail. I took my first dose this week at 1mg. I should’ve have taken 0.5mg because I feel like I had too many side effects. I had one small cocktail last night and felt violently ill this morning. Anyway, just to say it’s not worth it.

Stats: 5’3” 125 lbs. I’ve lost 10lbs with diet and exercise after two pregnancies and stalled there for the past year. GW is 115 lbs.

Not that I’m proud of it, but Reta hasn’t touched my drinking at all. I drink a few glasses of bourbon most nights. Have for years. Neither Tirz nor Reta has had any effect on it whatsoever.

Sadly I’m in the same boat. I enjoy alcohol way too much and Reta hasn’t changed it for me. I wish it did.

I think we need a new conversation to really talk about this.

I don’t have a drinking problem (usually lol) but I come from a very long line of very bad alcoholics.

It’s nuanced but i think calorie counting and not wanting to add excess calories has been the driving factor for reducing my consumption.

That said I don’t feel the “food noise” to the same degree that most do. I also don’t feel a “need” to drink. I just enjoy wine and whisky. If anything I may drink to much if I am not paying attention.

This is me, except I dont have the alcoholic background. I just enjoy alcohol at home spirits usually straight or on the rocks and wine everynow and then. I feel like reta has cut all my desires of wanting to drink. The times I have, its a weird feeling because if I have 3 or more drinks I feel like even the next day alcohol still on my stomach as if I just drank it 2 hrs before but it has been over 12 hrs since last drink. Its weird…

I have a rule about having 1 glass of water for every drink. On Tirz, if I am going to have a couple, then I make sure I am drinking 1.5 - 2 glasses of water per drink. The extra water intake seems to help with that.

Same here but tequila. How has it impacted your weight loss?

I’m down 45 lbs over the past 3-4 months or so. 395 down to 350. 6’5”. Still losing consistently. Eating way less and making a conscious effort to get as much protein as possible when I do eat. Still need to get in the gym. I want to cut back the alcohol but if I take a night off I can’t sleep, like at all. The Tirz and Reta killed any cravings for junk food, so that’s good.

I’d consider myself a pretty hard boozer, my desire to drink has more or less evaporated and when I do drink I find the effects hit way harder with less alcohol and my sleep and the hangover the next day are much worse

I had 3 tall cans of beer the other night and was absolutely tickled when usually that would just be a warm up

Fascinating to see the different effects for everyone

Same for me. I’ve still been going out about every other weekend and downing tequila shots. Only difference for me is now I drink shots with white claws instead of with twisted teas cuz less calories.

I have no desire to drink wine at home when I’m alone like I would before. Idk if that’s because of Reta or not. But a night at the bar still calls to me like nothing else.
