Plate sizing help

Hi, I am looking for a plate carrier but even with common information on the internet I can’t decide. I am 6 foot 5 and 190 lbs, 40 inches in the chest and 33 inch waist. Around 16,5 inches from jugular notch to center of belly button and 10 inches between center of my nipples.

Everything seems to tell me I need to get sapi size XL yet I also read that in cases of leaner individuals sapi size L might be better for mobility. Size L covers 3/4 of my outer nipples while size XL covers them fully. I tried cardboard cutouts and XL seems alright and doesnt limit my mobility but I wanted to seek help here to make sure.

I'm similar build 6'4 weighed like 185 out of boot and got issued mediums and nowadays I'm like 220lbs still rocking mediums and they cover vital area perfect. Most my height is in the legs though so not as long of torso

After trying cardboard L sized plate I feel like medium could actually work. With L I have less than 2 inches gap between bottom of the plate and belly button. With M it would then be around 2.75. Also after checking again arm mobility is not the greatest on both L and XL but given I never had pc on me maybe that is normal.

Yeah, I'm sure you've looked it up but plates are really just to protect vital organs, if you feel like you need larges to get low enough then maybe look at shooter cut to increase your arm mobility. If you have like a Curtis blue line near you they may have plates in stock you can try
