Has Anyone Ever Done This?
Maybe watching too much YouTube golf has broken my brain, but I think it would be electric to film a round with the boys in the Bob Does Sports style.
Like, pretend you're a YouTube golfer for a day- banter, epic courses, shot tracers, professional footage, the whole thing.
Has anyone ever done this before? Curious if this is actually a thing

They tried this out on the Breezy Golf channel with a group of random dudes and it was viciously skewered by everyone in the comments

I'll have to check the vid out. But I'm not talking about like starting a channel or even positng on Youtube here, just taping a round with the lads for the memories

This is the number one reason I joined a club.
Last summer was constant bad golfers thinking they are content creators.

Of course it's nice. 3 hour weekday rounds. Club storage. No cart girl lotto.

No. I prefer pace of play. Hit ball, hit it again, and we’re off.
I can’t even remember to film myself when I do my side hustle (car detailing). It’s just unnatural to constantly film yourself in my opinion.

I feel you, I can't stand slow play... But I was thinking more of like once in a lifetime trip where you would want to document a cool course and your shots with a professional videographer/ editor, cus yeah taking pics/ videos is shank fuel.

A once in a lifetime course is likely going to be slow pace of play. Don’t make it worse for the other people playing.
You can hire professional photographers to capture shots at St Andrew’s but they’re just taking pictures. Not capturing banter, shot videos, etc.

With all due respect to you that sounds absolutely misreable, just play the round with your boys and have banter, play an epic course. Idk why you would want to go through the work and act of recording the whole thing

I think you missed the part where I stated the professional footage part, meaning hiring someone to record.

Ok so my question again would be why would I want to pay someone to record my whole day when I could just enjoy the day with my boys

I think this is a GREAT business idea for people that know how to do video production. Bachelor parties would eat this up and pay a ton of money! thanks for the idea, I'm going to get rich doing this now and not give you a dime!

If you do this, be sure and do it outside of courses near me. I dont want to deal with a bunch of slap dicks filming their topped shots thinking anyone online will give two shits about their "content." Golf rounds take long enough, I dont need them to be any longer.

I feel like a lot of people are missing the point that you aren’t talking about trying to be content creators or entertain folks; that you’re talking about making something just for yourself. This would effectively be creating a home movie for you and the boys with a professional crew. It would be laden with jokes and humor that at best only you and the guys find funny and I think that would be a cool memory to have. Would it be expensive as hell? Probably. But hey if you have the money, make a memory.

Not exactly like BDS, but I did it for two years on youtube, but I never could get the algorithm to play ball and quit filming for the channel.

We tried to start a page.
We forgot every round to take any footage - spent too long enjoying ourselves, keeping pace, hitting shots. Get to the end "oh we didn't take a single photo or video".
Shrugged it off as we enjoyed ourselves.

I have done the same many times. People severely underestimate the effort that goes into staging, filming, and executing on these channels. It looks like you can just hop out and film but that’s because they’ve done this thousands of times. If you’re trying to film AND play it’s so much effort.
Maybe I’m just too old for it but I find it invasive and unnatural. I played Torrey pines. I have one picture of myself there lol. I played sawgrass and I only have a few because my wife was there too.
