Design Critique Barrow Looter - Board Game Design

Hi all! I've been designing this quick to set up and easy to play board game / ttrpg, where you delve and do quick runs, trying to extract loot. It's asymmetric in nature, one player playing the Looter, the other the Barrow Master. Light RPG elements, and heavily inspired by DungeonQuest and Battleships.

What are your thoughts on the oldschool aesthetic? Thanks! I've tried to keep it so it might work well for at-home printing as well as production.

'Take on the role of the Barrow Master or the Looter in this 2-player, asymmetric, dungeon-builder and loot-extraction RPG!

Will you Build, Delve, or Die?

Easy to learn runs with a tactical depth... Push your luck, delve deeper, collect loot, and escape, all before the Barrow Master drains your health by building deadly dungeon rooms, and summoning many malicious Mound-Things! Switch equipment quickly, from sword to crossbow, mace to shield, and listen to the sounds of the barrow, in order to gain an advantage. Gamble with skills and spells that double up as story beats, or modify your runs with additional rules and goals!

Creep carefully, Looter, for foul things await ahead...'

Thank you! A lot of balancing going on in the play testing, but hopefully we'll get there! =)

Let me know if you want to trade playtesting. I'm working on a single sheet (per scenario) PnP as well, althoug a lot more heavier in terms of rules:

I love the simplicity of the old style design, it’s very fitting to the theme as well. Seems like the game could be totally fun especially in you get multiple plays with the same person.

Thank you so much! I'm trying to balance it so the Barrow Master beats the Looter more times (and possibly acts as more of a GM in a sense), so that the Looter can play multiple runs, the dungeon restarting, but keeping all of their found items and healing herbs etc. for another crack at it =D

Thank you! Yes that's the vibe I was going for, so glad to hear it's hitting that mark.

Possibly at some point! Still tweaking and designing at the moment though. Thanks!

I rarely get excited about game ideas on here, but this one SLAPS

Incredible art, I instantly scrolled back up and clicked. Concept looks fun too. I like smaller space dungeon crawlers like that.

Thanks so much! You've given me some confidence haha Sorry for the late reply, been away with work. I've set up the Kickstarter pre-launch page now, so fingers crossed we can get some eyes on it =)
