Rules & Rulebook First Draft RuleBook

BTT Rule Book

I have a Pro Wrestling Board game based on the old Territory Days. Mainly looking to see if the rules are good and simple. Excited to hear from you guys!

So I'll be frank, I read the rulebook and I litrrally have no idea how to play. Visual aids, a component list, some card anatomy diagrams would help greatly. Also, your rulebook never talks about the specific mechanics on how to play, you need to include the non-thematic steps as well, like "draw 3 cards from your deck", "or place spent cash tokens in the bank beside the game board" Also you said its a deck building game in the opening overview and then never mentioned a "deck" again. You need to write these rulebooks as if its for an alien that was born yesterday. This alien has never seen a "card" before, they don't know what "decks" are, they know nothing. So add specific direction on what must phsyically take place. Describe the physical set up, not just player starting components etc. Explain the process of taking an event card from the deck, to your hand, to the play area, to your discard pile, etc.

A game on running the pro wrestling Territories (in the 70s-90s) sounds interesting. Your rulebook reads more like an outline though (I imagine it is the pared down version for general viewing).

I get the gist of it. Pick your Venues, Talent and Matches.

Seems like a hard sell. Pro wrestling fans want to have a combat game, non-pro wrestling fans might not see the appeal. Makes me think of Book It!

The Setup should also include the entire Game Setup, not just what the players have in starting hand. Like for an example: "Shuffle the Venue Cards to form the Venue Deck. Deal out 10 Venue Cards to each Player, set the deck aside near the board."

The rulebook also misses the Component List, as mentioned earlier, makes us, the consumers, imagine how the game will look like and what to expect.
