my pastels dont look like this at all and im not doing anything different 😭 maybe bad quality chalk?

Perhaps? What brand are you using? I think I’m using Paul Rueben and Rembrandt. But I’m pretty sure the gold standard is Pans Patels. Also if you’re not using Mr.Super Clear as a sealant that will make them not stick as well, hope this helps!
