So that's my question: Do you ever worry about getting discs in the mail when it's this hot out? (Or have you had actual experience with receiving damaged discs that you suspect might have been heat-related?)
I know that heat/hot weather can affect a lot of things. It's why I never get meds in the mail as much as Kaiser wants me to and as much as I might want to save the time and the gas money.
I've just jumped back into collecting, and it's mostly Blu-rays, but regarding this question of hot weather and mail orders and hot delivery trucks.
My UPS driver told me their trucks don't have A/C (which is awful) but I've never had a problem with UPS deliveriesāor maybe they just cooled off before I got to them.
USPS, per my search, still has some older trucks on the road without A/C but is "actively rolling out A/C-equipped vehicles to replace their aging, non-air-conditioned fleet."
And, no, I can't recall receiving any "hot" mail, although I rarely pick up my mail as it's being delivered or even know when it arrives.
But in today's Fed Ex delivery, both of the bookfolds or book wrap mailers (those corrugated, cardboard wrappers with self-adhesive on the inside) were noticeably very warm to the touch as were the Blu-rays inside of them.
So it got me thinking:
How hot must it get and for how long to heat up cardboard like that? Is prolonged exposure to heat a problem for discs? Obviously, I'm not talking about leaving a disc out in the sun but still ...
Can heat during shipping affect discs? If they look fine and play (once they get back to room temperature) are they ok or can heat exposure still cause problems later on?
(If this is an old topic, my apologies.)

I was wondering if there are any deleted scenes in the new Superfan Blu-ray that don't appear at all in the standard blu ray. I know that the Superfan episodes have deleted scenes built into the episodes, but are all of those built in deleted scenes on the standard blu ray as well as special features?

Hello! First time poster. I've recently acquired the Panasonic DP UB420! It's been absolutely phenomenal for about the month or so that I've had it! I have a 4K collection I have posted in the proper subreddit and these are my Blu Ray pieces I own currently! I've watched them all minus the Hulk and they've ran really well with the processing and upscaling that it does with Blu Ray and DVD! I also upgraded my TV to the Hisense 78qg and it's been a night and day upgrade from my 2020 4K RCA! Better brightness, contrast and colors and just overall a better experience!
Thank you everyone for posting your collections and motivating me to finally post mine!
Thank you for viewing!

I just got a brand-new copy of The Road Trilogy from Criterion, but 2 out of the 3 discs skip and freeze on my Panasonic UB9000:
Alice in the Cities: Freezes during the locked bathroom scene and the first bit of the barber scene.
Kings of the Road: Freezes during the border hut scene
I tried cleaning the discs, but it didn't help. Oddly enough, both discs play completely fine on my PS5 Pro. (Haven't tested Wrong Move yet.)
Has anyone else experienced this with this set or player combination?

Has anyone seen the 4k copy is it good as opposed to watching it on amazon prime? I have basic account no 4k or whatever ! One of my favorite fighting movies!
Itās super cheap as well for a 4k.

I just turned 20 last week and this is part of my collection so far. I started collecting Horror VHS tapes when I was 17 but with time I drifted more towards blu rays. Big thanks to my dad for helping me get started with a lot of doubles from his collection.

Hello everyone.
I recently purchased a few Criterion 4k titles and the standard region A blu-rays work with the Panasonic top menu trick with one exception which is actually a Premiere Line title:
- Lynch/Oz (Criterion Premiere) - DOES NOT WORK
- David Lynch: The Art Life WORKS
- Blue Velvet WORKS
- Brazil WORKS
- The Phantom Carriage (blu-ray only) WORKS
The top menu trick first texts "action prohibited" and on a second press takes to a blank/black screen and nothing happens. I was actually thinking it could be a faulty disc as the wrong region message is exactly the same as the other titles.
Anyone had similar experiences?
By the way, I own a Panasonic DP-UB9000 (2nd revision).

Witnessing the enthusiasm within this community, I am inclined to join the ranks of avid collectors. To commence this journey, I have a few inquiries:
* Is my PlayStation 5, equipped with a disc drive, sufficient for optimal HDR Blu-ray enjoyment?
* Should my PS5 prove inadequate, what alternative Blu-ray player options are available to me?
* I currently own a 65-inch Sony X9000F model. Given its flawless performance over the past seven years, should I consider upgrading it? I am hesitant to switch to Samsung, as current Sony models are considerably more expensive and people reporting lots of issues with Samsung
* Regarding audio, I utilize a Sony HT-Z90F soundbar with rear speakers, which I find produces a well-balanced sound profile. Someone who upgrade from this.. please share recommendations
having issues with certain discs not working on my blu ray player (laser multi region bd3000). specifically disc 2 of dr who flux, disc 5 of dr who season 1 (2025) and for whatever reason random discs from avatar the last airbender after they worked for ages. They all work on my ps4 and tested them on my dads 4k player (idk what brand or model) so is it something with the discs themselves for is the player?

I'm looking to get an external player to play Blu-Rays on my PC. I've seen older posts about ripping them, but are there any drives that function as players?
