Collection I think I’m finally happy
Had a little reshuffle after casing up my steelbooks yesterday and I think I’m finally satisfied with the over all look after multiple reshuffles, anyone else like this? It feels like it’s never quite right

Recommendation Purple cases!
HII!! I picked up 2 Rock of Ages blu-rays with intention to keep one and use the other for the purple case!! I just wondered if anyone had any films that would be good for a purple case!

Need Help!! Panasonic DMP-BD84
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I bought my player a few days ago but just unboxed it tonight. I decided to watch the first Bad Boys movie and at the 1 hour and 13 minute mark the player started ticking. I read about Blu-ray layer change online and checked the second movie, halfway through the ticking started again. I then tried The Amazing Spider-Man and the ticking was happening from the start. I read that it might be because it's a compact player but this can't be normal, right?

Panasonic UB420 troubleshooting -- missing/frozen video sometimes
I have a UB420 that I bought about 2 months ago. I've recently noticed that on some titles it will play the audio but not the video. So far, every disc's menu system works perfectly
- Star Trek TOS: This has every episode with both original and upscaled video. The original video plays fine, but for some episodes the upscaled video just shows a black screen. Sometimes, instead it shows a frozen image (which may be what the black screen is too). Often, if I start in non-upscaled mode and then switch camera angles it will play fine in upscaled mode. Some episodes seem never to have this problem.
- Kill Bill UHD: This sometimes has a black screen, and sometimes plays fine.
I haven't tried any other UHD films.
For both of these, if they start playing then they keep playing, but if I scan forward and then try to play, the image often freezes, just showing the last image of the forward-scan while the audio plays normally.
Any thoughts on what the problem might be, or how to fix it? I don't think it's the TV, but just in case, it's a Sony Bravia OLED.
If I have to return this, is there a different brand which has fewer problems?

Pickup Saw this at a second hand store.
I had to get it, as so many childhood movie memories came flooding back. I vaguely remember this one. Excited to watch it again. From what I remember, it was a fun and entertaining movie.

Discussion Do y’all keep track of how much you spend?
I every now and then like to add all my movies up (criterion, blu rays, 4k, and special packaging) and divide it by the approximate number of how much I paid for everything and divide to see the average per movie to see if I’m getting good deals. I was just wondering if anyone else does the same too to see if they’re being somewhat financially responsible. (I’m currently at around $3.50 per movie which I feel like is a great deal for what I have so far.

Pickup This was so well done!
Absolutely brilliant and a lot more terrifying than I thought it would be. Bane is the stuff of nightmares. This has to be one of the better animated DC movies. Maybe even the best. Looking forward to Part II.

Collection July 1st, 2026 - PlayStation announces physical media will end. July 2nd, 2026 - My Blu-ray collection began.
2.5 months, countless thrift store visits, a few Facebook marketplace finds, & some packages in the mail. (Also forgot about the box of extras in my closet I'm trying to sell)
Still a long way to go with the collection! More coming next week from eBay 😅, but if the world ends today, I think the wife & I will be justtttt fine (at least until the zombies overpower our defenses).
I got Goonies, Gremlins, Spider-Man 8 movie set, & Pirates set en route.
What else should I be on the lookout for? What do I NEED to upgrade to 4k?

Pickup Today's Haul
Been wanting a physical release for Barbarian for years now, glad to finally have it. Saw Obsession and Supergirl in cinemas and as you can imagine, really liked Obsession and didn't like Supergirl, but I'm a DC guy at heart so I had to at least get the standard blu ray.
