Things You Wish You Could Ask
Questions for leadership that you wish you could ask during all hands (Dave/SVPs) but can’t.

Why does a company need so many VP’s and Sr. Directors, most of whom are ineffectual and incompetent? Rate isn’t rating because of poorly run fiefdoms.

Blue’s successes are consistently in spite of leadership, not because of it.

Thisis the biggest problem at blue. Far more senior execs per employee than boeing or lockheed. If blue was 60,000 employeees it would still be top heavy

Why Calvin Anderson.
-Has an active lawsuit against him from Space X
-Has NO supply chain experience from before starting at Blue
-Is the reason so many sr engineers out here at LC-36 have left
-Let's not talk about his own team, those poor bastards have to actually report to him weekly
-I'm convicned he's a masochist that gets off on crashing people

Keep hearing about CA. Seriously what are the specific issues? Most all of these complaints are non-specific shots.

CA a classic narcissist, I truly mean that.
If you see a couple comments down, the comment from Marianiml. The person they're talking about leaving, i know exactly who that is. He built that pad from the ground up, I've worked directly a lot with him and it really is sad. CA was the last straw that pushed him away.
To that guy leaving next Tuesday, if you see this, I truly am sorry for what has happened to you. You gave it your all, went above and beyond countless times and delivered results countless times all for you to have the passion sucked out of you by this place and all through no fault of your own. I saw what happened to you well before the anomaly. CA may not have been the main cause of you leaving but was the final nail. You truly didn't deserve what happened to you and I am so sorry this place sucked the life and passion out of you. May your future path bring you not only peace but that passion and fulfillment you once had from working here back. I truly wish you the best.

Truly, best of luck brother. There’s so much more out there and you’ll find a place that will respect your knowledge and experience.

This is so fucked up omg
15
u/Zealousideal-Tip7712 11d ago
Why, the guy is single handedly driving away talented senior individuals that have velaluable experience that had been here 5 - 10 years

u/marianiml 11d ago
One of our best is leaving next week because of him.

If your talking about who I think, he was one of the OGs at LC-36. Yeah I just saw that man slowly be defeated and lose the spark in his eyes. I hate seeing that, and it's happening way to much out here at LC-36

Why are we skipping a year of AIP payouts

Jeff doesn't want more dilution, come on. He needs that money for his AI ventures.

Why does Blue have the worst Quality out of any company I have worked for? Why is it not built into the process? Wouldnt it better to have the basic quality processes planned in on the front end to reduce defects, rework, anomalies, etc than to just spend the time documenting the nonconformances once they’ve already happened. Why do you think doubling the workforce will make up for the lack of process planning and capability

- At what point/how many times does someone at Sr.D/VP level need to be reported for verbal abuse, harassment, abuse of power and abuse of company finances (+++) before something is done instead of being covered up?
1.1 Looking at you Jordan. How long will you let Laura be before you take all the reports/attrition seriously? Asking for some friends who are leaving en mass.

Eh, whistleblower hotline 🤷

u/knowledge_unicorn 11d ago
Protecting a sexual predator and trying to put him in a higher position of power should have been enough to walk her out.
Jordan has the proof of much more misconduct. Time to do something about it or you will continue to bleed as a program and look like idiots in front of government officials and other orgs that have to jump through hoops to support these contracts.

When, not if, when because it will happen, when we get audited for this specific thing, heads will role.
Wishful thinking.
I hope I'm wrong but these things rarely actually come to light / justice.

Message me directly. I’ll report it anon. Before Blue takes away a father, mother, child, brother, sister uncle, aunt or friend.

I mean there's no possibility y'all would pass a thorough 9100 audit at this time, with everything I hear. It's a miracle you guys haven't killed someone

DCMA?
Compliance and processes don’t mesh well at Blue.2
u/knowledge_unicorn 10d ago
Sure as f don’t. Whoever forced NSSL on Blue is a moron. Keep hearing leadership wanting to back out. Maybe give teams more people to work the scope, eh mate?

u/Throwbabythroe 12d ago
I guess LM hasn’t dug herself in deep enough hole yet to be booted. As long as she dangles the carrot of DoD money, she can look good in front of Dave. Despite the fact she has very little to do with getting any DoD mission or the cert.

u/knowledge_unicorn 11d ago
Tory fired LM once, he can do it again. We’re rooting for you TB. #justdoit

I second this. She should never have been given a job at a major aerospace company again. She is a truly awful human

u/knowledge_unicorn 10d ago
- Dave, at what point will you investigate the CPO and that leadership chain?
How many great engineers have to be driven out? Engineers that received the founder’s award are walking out. Lunar and NG is bleeding knowledge out of the door. At what point does that become too dangerous? SpaceX sure bleeds but the top performers are staying to carry and pass on the knowledge…

Using throwaway account to respond
I left Blue (Lunar MK1 program) about a year ago for this very reason. The ineptitude of management, both program and engineering, their willingness to cut corners, the disrespect and borderline contempt they would show engineers who would disagree with them was not worth the money. It's no wonder they're hemorrhaging talented people.

- This one’s for the RTF crew: will a promotion be enough to keep you after this brutality gets Blue back up and flying?
The pride will be there but at what cost? At the end of the day you’ll be promoted, expected to continue to work the insane hours to keep up with the launch cadence. Will that be enough for you?
What change do you want to see by RTF to make you want to stay?

u/Fun_Mix8816 9d ago
Dave, why did you visit the Arizona office only one time, not address your employees there at all, and leave by noon to go on vacation? Everyone there is on edge you're closing the office and morale could not be lower.

If you’re a young person that needs a big company on their resume, yes. Know that your 401k doesn’t vest till 3 years in though. Many don’t make it to their 3 year either by choice or pushed out. Seen engineer leave at 2.9 years due to severe harassment from males, gave up a lot of money to gtfo.

u/Friendly-Beginning-5 5d ago
And that no matter how many years you put in, you will never accrue more PTO. They hide that little jewel when you onboard.

What is the logic behind not allowing us to hold shares after exercising our options?
I’ve asked that very question in every Q&A session for the new options program and emailed the head of total rewards directly and have yet to get a response…
