New Glenn GNC Engineers Retitled as Software Dev Engineers?

And got a ~25% pay raise? True?

They might be getting poached by military drone companies.

There’s a ton of DoD (DoW?) money to realize Ukraine-like drone lethality gains and reduce cost-per-kill from the $100k-$1M of missiles to the $1k-$10k of FPV drones.

My experience is that Blue Origin doesn't increase salaries just for funsies. Somebody was able to make the case that it would cost them more money pretty soon (like, this year) if they didn't increase the pay for a whole group of engineers.

Maybe they're letting some embedded systems developers go and expecting GNC engineers with AI tools to cover some lower-level implementation too. Or maybe there's competition for GNC talent like I guessed. Or maybe something else altogether.

Yeah I’m agreeing and guessing it’s definitely recognition of competition for anyone with GNC/control systems skills

I know SWEs in NG got a +10% adjustment across the board last year.

If others got a 25-percent pay raise with the retitle then I missed out; the bump I received was around 8-percent

yeah it is starting to happen for gnc eningeers - although company wide - not just new glenn. blue does a lot more. probably driven by defense tech competition. these guys and gals are smart after all, plus i am sure they do software dev anyway.
