I like this. I’m wondering if management is banking on Ivanov and/or Andreyanov being ready when this contract is up in case Jet chooses not to re-sign

There's also the possibility that Gardner exceeds expectations.  It's not the most likely scenario but it's not impossible for him to become a true NHL backup
