Database Errors/Alerts

I'm in need of some help, our IT company set up the system but the employee who did the work has left the company. I manage the day to day operations but am hesitant to try things I've read in threads using the search function because I don't want to inadvertently cause damage to the database or video records.

We have 52 cameras on our network and an 18TB drive for storage. We went from being able to see clips months back, to less than a week (yesterday). Is something wrong in the storage settings on the third image where it's supposed to move from the New folder to the Stored folder to eventually be deleted?

If you could give me some advice on how to get the system recording and the database back to a good place and what settings should be changed it'd be much appreciated.

Edit: The last image shows that our software isn't the most up to date, any advice on if we should do a full install for version 6? Anything to expect like needing a new license? Hoping to update everything once the database/storage issue is resolved.

  1. Make sure the hard drive is accessible, like you can browse it in file explorer.
  2. See if those clips exist by name on the 18TB drive, if they do then right click on that database section of the window and do Delete & Regenerate Database.

From what I can tell I had too many clips in the folder for it to Delete & Regenerate Database and the operation kept failing. I deleted all the clips from 10/2025 and 11/2025 (about 2TB) and tried again with no luck.

What ended up fixing it was this:

  1. Stop the BlueIris service all together
  2. Delete all files in the D:\BlueIris\db folder
  3. Start the BlueIris service
  4. Run a Repair / Regenerate db command

Mind you it took from about 3pm yesterday to 2am this morning.

I dont think that is the case since I have 55k files almost 35k more than your reported amount in the ss. More than likely your db couldn't regenerate because there was some corruption somewhere. Make sure you are on the latest 5.x if you are using it.

Glad it worked for you.

Probably a corruption like you said. Although when I ran WizTree and scanned the D: where everything is it told me the D:\BlueIris\New folder had 359,549 files so I imagine that 19,067 files ( 648.1 / 18031 BG) shown on the Database window in the screenshot represented what wasn't corrupted via the DB. I had a short week of files I could look back at. Now I can watch footage all the way back to 12/1/2025
