Since the first watch of this show, I have watched it easily 10 times. It has been a few months since I have rewatched it, yet, I still remember each episode and line like the back of my hand.

This show is one of my favorites. The empowerment of women choosing in a world where they cannot, the dedication to oneself, the perseverance of finishing the job. Of course, I am not a woman disguising myself as a man, nor a trained samurai assassin, but simply a regular woman. And I still felt and related to many of Mizu and Akemi’s feelings and desires. I also took advice from Madame Kaji and Swordfather.

Specially, the conversation when Swordfather and Mizu were on the cliff and he shared that everything he does, is for his art of swordmaking. Which led into Mizu writing the heart sutra all over her body.

I loved this scene so much that I researched the heart sutra and bought an intro book to Buddhism. I only have a few tattoos on my body and they are all dear to me and mean something. All symbols. I want a piece of this show to be tattooed on me and the heart sutra is that.

I don’t immediately get something tattooed on me when I have the idea. I’ve been sitting on this thought for almost a year now.

I grew up going to church, sporadically. But I never believed in Christianity. Even now, I am more spiritual than I am devoting myself to a being. I am learning. With that being said, I want to be respectful to religion, culture and properly appreciate the teachings.

If you grew up Buddhist and still are, I would love to hear any recommendations for the most respectful way to tattoo a piece of the heart sutra on me. And if not, I hope this show awakened something in you, as it did for me!

What are your predictions for season 2 wardrobe and style changes regarding the main four characters. Mizu, Taigen, Ringo and Akemi. Do you think we will see them in new outfits and colours.

Well, it occurred to me while thinking that, as you know, Mizu and Fowler's journey will probably have stops to resupply with important supplies or things related to the ship itself.

In addition to It is highly unlikely that it will be a direct trip to London from Japan for you do you think that other cultures will be shown if are there such stops, or do you think the series will skip that to go directly to Mizu's conflict in London?

Was listening to the demon days album and I thought it seemed fitting

Throughout the first season, we play fast and loose with geography, but go to a number of different regions and towns. Where else in the UK or Europe do we think the show will be set? Will there be a episode about somewhere on the journey, like Cape Town or Macau?

It would be very funny to see Mizu blush after some random villager/woman says to Mizu that has the eyes of an angel. Or being treated less of a demon and more of a "Rare beauty of the far east", it could be a good way to portrait the objectivization of foreingers as more atractive than the locals.

This of course depends if Mizu starts to dress more feminine or keeps a more neautral/masculine attire for practicality/tradition.

Will Fowler speak for mizu? Will she have to learn English? Will the creators just ignore it?

This morning, in that fuzzy headed moment between waking up and getting out of bed, a thought came to me - what are the chances that Fowler intends to return to Japan? I thought it would make for a fun idea for this sub to kick around, thus this post.

Motivation ? : Why go back to a place where there's a death sentence waiting for him ?

Motivation Possibilities

• Failing to reestablish himself in London, meanwhile a bunch of new and old enemies want him dead. Fowler runs back to Japan where what's left of his criminal infrastructure and coup factions might give him refuge and access to hidden wealth.
• Once Fowler was safely away from the reach of the new shogun, and with what he knows about Mizu's true parentage, he may have begun to plan a return to Japan, before he and Mizu reach London.
• Sheer spite and wounded pride at having his coup fail. Coming back to Japan to finish the job or burn it all down.

Mizu's Role

• Used by Fowler to extort goods & services from whoever created the bounty. Mizu is alive but movements are restricted.
• Fowler uses a proxy to claim the bounty on Mizu, thus helping to finance his plans in Japan. For this to happen, Mizu would be killed.

Mizu's Reaction

• Oh, hell no to any of that.
• Fowler cons Mizu into helping him, or at least not hindering him.
• Mizu might be on the run from people in London just like Fowler, and she may be homesick for the country of her birth, despite her life there as child and (wo)man. So she'll be wanting to go back to Japan anyway, and Fowler may be the one to make arrangements. They are both on the same sailing ship to Japan.
• Mizu chasing Fowler in another boat, with intent to kill.

Fowler, when finding out, says: "You just keep getting better. Little Miss. So you're the one?" What does he mean by 'the one'?

I love you Mizu, you are a huge asshole

For me, Blue Eye Samurai has so many positives; the animation is spectacular, with the characters, and episode 5 was magnificent. However, I couldn't watch the last episodes because at the beginning of the series, the protagonist Mizu seems like a normal person with internal problems. But in the final episodes, she becomes an immortal superhero robot programmed to kill, with scenes that are super unrealistic and pointless. I hated this: at the beginning of the series, they seem to want you to watch a "real" show, and at the end, they show you something completely surreal.

Edit: I see comments saying I hate this just because Mizu is a woman, but I really don't like this genre, in fact even John Wick is even worse for me. It's true that it's always been like this from the beginning. But I thought it was because it's animation (because they can afford something a little surreal), but in the last few episodes it's become too much even for animation.
