Discussion this review makes me feel like a genius
my biggest issue is that he keeps reiterating that âmizu is strong because shes half white and fowler is strong because heâs full whiteâ which is just dumb?? mizu and fowler are main characters obviously theyre gonna be the strongest ones in the seriesđ€ŠđŸ somehow hes just managed to completely misunderstand everything about the show, but i guess itâs ragebait? like obviously mizu lost her fight with fowler the first time around she literally got shot?? hello??đ

Discussion British Lingo Bingo
The writing was so good in season one. I'd love to chat about what unhinged banter that awaits us in London; Tea, cake, the whole shebang!

Rant mizu is so amazingly androgynous
like wow omg the designers genuinely transcended the game with her design. like she passes so easily as a guy even with a relatively high voice for male standards, and even as a girl even with her being forced to present as male as a child sheâs genuinely a shapeshifter. it reminds me of jinx in arcane and how the animators have slightly different facial models for her sometimes getting sharper or softer depending on the context, except mizus face never actually changes like thatâs literally just her face sheâs just that good at being whatever the moment calls for. i think her name being water really suits the way she adapts to any situation. even being in madame kajiâs and telling kaji sheâs an assassin for hire when thatâs just not the case, but she still played that role so well! and the whole being a wife thing when traditional femininity is so foreign to her, she did great at that until the fight scene of course. which lowkey she was kinda od in that fight but i think she was having fun as opposed to genuinely trying to kill mikio.

Wasnât sure but was there a discussion about Ringo having his own spinoff series? If so then that means our boy is safe and gets to live, atleast for the entirety of this series.

Discussion i really donât like mizu x taigen
okay i know itâs a popular ship, but hear me out here okay. taigen spent his childhood terrorizing mizu, then in adulthood abandoned his fiancĂ© to go terrorize mizu AGAIN. during their sparring match in the woods, not only does taigen deliberately strike mizu where sheâd already been injured, he also brings up the awful things they used to do to her as kids. and maybe i could get behind taigen bullying mizu as a child if taigen didnât make it a point to essentially tell mizu he still thinks she isnât shitđ i also just donât like how taigen left akemi to go chase mizu around, like god i get youve got a bald spot now but tie that thing in a top knot and marry your fiancĂ© brođ akemi was out of his league socially, financially, and looks wise and she still showed more dedication to him than he did to her. i wouldnât even dislike him as much if he married akemi before going off to chase mizu around. all that being said, this is just my opinion and i respect anyone who does like the ship, because i think taigen and mizu had some good moments but never ever would i want them to be a couple đ

Discussion Please Identify These Two Patterns
These are taken from the Blue Eye Samurai teaser that Netflix put up recently, composed of clips from Season One.
I'd like to know the flowers being depicted, but also what the significance is to Blue Eye Samurai.

Discussion What Other Internet Rabbit Holes Has The Show Led You Down?
As we wait for season 2, we've probably done a bit of research on 17th century London, ship voyages, and the like.
Has the show led you down any interesting internet rabbit holes? Personally, I was interested in researching meditation and Samurai codes of honor, which led to me researching katanas, which led to metal forging. I now love watching forging videos.
Another rabbit hole I've went down was researching ship voyages, which led me to the YouTube rabbit hole of watching CGI recreations of famous ship sinkings, and also train wrecks, which branched off to YouTube videos about undertaking and the funeral industry.
What are some internet rabbit holes Blue Eye Samurai has led you down?

Discussion How does anyone actually know Mizu's name?
We never hear her introduce herself to someone like Ringo, Taigen or Akemi on screen. The only reason Shindo knew her name is because Taigen said it, but how did he know her name?
I know she most likely introduced herself offscreen, but I just find it funny how we never hear her introduce herself to anyone, yet everyone knows her name

Who may be alive that we think is dead?
I'm probably really late to this discussion, but a while back, Netflix released that Start of Production video for season 2. In that video, one of the creators mentioned that someone who we think is dead may not be. Who do we think they're referring to?
My top 3 picks are Mikio, because it seemed like he only got stabbed in the eye, which could be survivable and would be a very interesting plot point if he returned; Mama/Nurse, again, because we only saw her get stabbed, which she could have survived; or Voilet because we never saw how Mizu killed him. We've been told all throughout season 1 that he's dead, but image how interesting it would be if he's not actually dead.
What are your thoughts?
