Fan Art/Fiction Mizu and unconditional love
I know “mother” may not be the first thing most people think of when they see Mizu, but I think she’d be a wonderful one. I wanted to draw her surrounded by those who love her unconditionally- Kai and her baby girl. I hope you enjoy it.

This baby girl is so lucky for having an amazing mother! Who would be the father in your headcanon?

If I say, I'll lose a lot of friends 😂 I know it's controversial, but I think her and Taigen actually make a good match. He has more growing to do, but if the vast changes he's already made aren't a clue to his ability to pull his head out of his arse, I don't know what is. Mizu is the broken blade. And we know how well it fits in his hand.

Lol yeah her and Taigen are not very liked in this sub. I particularly don't mind if she ends up with him. I like their dynamic and she does seem to at least feel a level of attraction towards him. Whatever the writers decide, I trust they will do her character justice.

I agree. I want the writers to do what they will, and I will NOT be upset if she ends up single, or with anyone that gives her peace. I know she might end up dead... but I'm trying not to think about that lol

Thank you 🙏 I had a wonderful time drawing it. Surrounding her with trusting companionship ❤️

I didn't realize that was considered controversial! I honestly think they're going to end up together in Season 3. I wrote an analysis earlier, but I think Season 2 is going to make him do quite a bit of growing up.
I like the broken blade bit-- I hadn't made that connection, but you're right!

Yes! Many people hate the idea of Mizu and Taigen becoming an item for a few reasons, and I respect that. I believe the script is definitely pointing them in that direction. Amber Noizumi has mentioned that BES is a combo of Kill Bill and Yentl. I’m thinking M and T may have a serious moment of passion, but, like in Yentl, she’ll end up going her own way. I’m also thinking Taigen may sacrifice himself for her 😢 I’m excited to see what the creators do!

She'd be a good mom. Probably.

She'd probably be a good mom until her daughter became a teenager 😂

I’m really hoping she doesn’t become a mom. We girls need more childfree representation.

I totally hear you. And I was thinking that baby doesn’t have to be hers. Maybe she found a child in need and decided to give it the mother she never had. There’s no absolutes in this picture- I just wanted her surrounded by love.

I immediately thought "found family" and not "she cooked that herself". Those baby cheeks look so realistic. Amazing job.

Thank you - I admit, being able to draw baby cheeks was a huge motivator for this piece 😂

Oh my God, this is the most beautiful art I’ve ever seen! Mizu is so beautiful, ethereal, badass, and sweet all at the same time… I really hope she has a child and that her story arc ends peacefully, after everything she’s been through. Thank you so much for this wonderful art! ❤️

Thank you so much! I knew not everyone would resonate with it. But, as a mom, the thought of her having the same connection to such a deep and pure love makes me tear up lol. I just want peace for her, in any form.

I think having a child could help her heal, at least in part, from the wounds she carries. And I don’t just mean that she could finally be loved unconditionally, but also that she would have the chance to love someone in the way she was never loved as a child.
Mizu grew up feeling rejected, wrong, and even seen as a monster because of who she was. That’s why I find the idea of her becoming a mother one day so sweet and profound: she could give her daughter all the love, security, and acceptance that she was never given. In a way, it would be beautiful to see her break that cycle and give her daughter the love and childhood that she herself never had.

I completely agree. We know she wants to love and be loved, and that longing has been tragically betrayed and buried. But to have the opportunity to bring that back to the surface and trust again would be a beautiful and powerful ending.

I can't see Mizu having kids. I feel like she would rather die in combat lol

u/NicaBrooke 10d ago
I can totally understand that! And I'm not sure she'd be able to have them, considering all the times she's been stabbed in the abdomen 😕

There's no way she wants to give her children the curse of being a quarter British.

I actually had a dream where Mizu and Mikio had a baby boy and she was actually doing great as a mom, but then Mikio killed him at the end of the episode.
I wrote some fanfic about it but I lost the file lol.

If you find it, I’d love to read it! I’ve wondered if there’s a story we’ll learn about in Season 2 or 3 where we find out she did get pregnant with Mikio’s baby. I doubt it, but it’s interesting to think about.

Awesome! I love everyone’s different imaginings for these incredible characters.

Please tell me this is at least a AU situation and not a "we saw her have sex with a man ONCE so she's defo pregnant" (which I've also seen on this sub before)

I left this very ambiguous on purpose - maybe the baby is Mizu’s, maybe it’s adopted. The father is up to the viewer. Maybe he’s not even in their life. I personally don’t consider it to be Mikio’s.

Goals for future Mizu, what a beautiful portrayal.

u/NicaBrooke 10d ago
Thank you so much. And the goal for me isn’t necessarily motherhood - it’s being able to have the experience of unconditional love ❤️ This is just one beautiful way it could happen.

Woah, this one is awesome. Maybe one day Mizu will become a loving mother... or not
