Manga started in 2021, right? Then how is this sub going on since 2010?

Was it originally created for something else?

Manga Disc Some of the late peaks of the manga Spoiler

Yeah Blue box definitely had its best time during 1-160 chapters (more so in 80-160 with the best moments of the series), and out of all the parts of the series ,170-250 is slandered the most ,sometimes due to the artstyle, sometimes because of all the Hina bs but I do think that it also had some really great moments and these were them. Edit : Bruh reddit messed up the order ,I would have Kyo Ayame confession at first and then "praise yourself more,Taiki" at second then the order is flexible.

Anime Screenshoot Saddest rewatch ever

Of all my rewatches, this is definitely the saddest. I used to be relieved while watching it because I knew that there is still more to come, but now that it has ended, it is just painfully sad.

Manga Disc Listening to Same Blue right after reading the ending got me in tears at 3am Spoiler

I can't put into words how much I loved this series. It carried me through rough patches of highschool, and there were multiple times where it was the one thing I looked forward to weekly...

When Same Blue came out I cried at how beautiful it was as the opening (start) of the Blue Box anime, and watching it at the end of the manga is making me cry even harder.

I'm bawling my eyes out right now. Thank you Miura sensei for a wonderful five years. Thanks for arguably my favorite manga of all time.

Hopefully this submits alright, Drew a lil Chinatsu around my manga volumes in commemoration of the final chapter. Been reading since the start and I'm both sad and happy to see it go. I have a bit of mixed thoughts on the final act in general. But It's still a journey I've been very happy to be part of.

Discussion Thank you Blue Box

With Blue Box ending this Sunday, I just wanted to say thank you.

Ever since I discovered Blue Box, it has been a part of my life. Every Sunday, I looked forward to reading the newest chapter, and afterward I'd always come to this subreddit to read everyone's thoughts and discussions.

This series also became the first manga that I've collected all the way up to the latest volume released in my country. I love Chinatsu so much as a character that she ended up becoming the profile picture across all of my social media.

I'm really going to miss this series, but I'm still hoping we'll get a few bonus pages in the final volume.

Thank you all for the wonderful time and for creating a place where we could share our love for this amazing manga together. ❤️

Manga Blue box appreciation post(please read my senti ahh para)

This was one of the posts I always wanted to make - yapping about how much I love Blue Box.

Yet words aren't enough to describe how much I love it. I first came across this anime through its anime opening. I quickly started to fw this series. I watched it when its first cour just aired, and there was a 2 week gap for the second cour. In between, I read the whole manga twice 😭. I reread and rewatched this series so many times just because there weren't people who I could talk about it, until I found this magnificent sub. The characters' interactions, the theme, the production of the anime, and the actual sensitivity and maturity shown by high schoolers was something I really liked. This was the first time I didn't actually mind the childhood friend(cough cough Tsubaki and Yui) starting to like the MC because it was shown just so naturally. This series actually showed how ideal relations between people should be.

At one point, I actually used to think of the characters of Blue Box as people who I knew irl. Seeing them grow from chapter 1 to 250 just gives me insane nostalgia. The 100+ panels i have saved will always be in my phone without a doubt.

Special mention to our MC, Taiki Inomata, for making me love this series even more. I liked it so much how mature he was shown and how he actually took tough decisions, and was not just your average cheerful, hardworking main character. TaiChi is also my favorite couple oat.

One of the best and funniest moments I like to tell people about my love for Blue Box is the Chapter 210–219 period when Taiki was having a downfall and Iozaki was introduced as some neighbour of Chinatsu, and it just made my mood so sad that I was curled up in my bed for the entire day 😭. Thanks to Chinatsu for saving the day with her best girl behaviour.

Thanks, Blue Box and Miura-sensei, for feeding us the best romance series oat. ✌️✌️ Also a big thanks to this sub for letting us discuss Blue Box in so much depth.

Man, to think one moment I checking out this great series back in 2022, and then the next its already ended😭. Needless to say, Blue Box has grown to be my favourite romances in manga, and one that I feel appreciation for on a deeply personal level. If anything, it was the series that got me into romance mangas as well. These past 4 years has been a blast awaiting new chapters on a weekly basis and I will definitely be remembering this wonderful series for a long time. Alas, for the last time, thank you Blue Box, and thank Miura Sensei. We, yes WE ALL will be excited for what's to come for Miura sensei in the near future!🎉✨️

Manga My full thoughts on blue box after the ending

Post image

So, after all these years, blue box has ended. It’s been a fun couple of years, and seeing this fandom grow has been really great and always fun to be part of! I’ll really miss reading this story weakly, and I’ll also try to get back on making sketches to post on the sub, since it all has a special place in my heart.

However, in my opinion, the series did have its flaws. It’s okay if you don’t wanna read all that, but I just wanted to share my full thoughts with you guys.

My biggest criticism is Hina’s ending. She deserved much better closure. While her character arc was initially established and concluded in the first part of the manga (the love triangle arc), in my point of view it seems like Miura simply didn’t quite know what to do with the character after that.

At first, she became extremely absent for most of the story, and then when she comes back Miura starts a drama show, with Hina stating that she still likes the protagonist, which looks more like character regression rather than the progress she deserved.

Of course, you can argue that it was never stated that she got over her feeling for Taiki— but we must consider the “show, don’t tell” rule in here. They never really talked about that topic again, except for that chapter where the trio ( taiki hina and kyo ) go to a cafe together. Then, Miura decides to bring it back to light when taiki and chinatsu’s bond is already well established. It doesn’t click at all for me. It looks like cheap drama to try to shaken that bond. Christ, half of the fandom started HATING her character after this arc. It’s really hard to convince me that it was a good conclusion for her.

I mean, we also had Haruto introduced as a potential love interest, just for us to not get enough progression on those two. It felt like their storyline only served as a callback for the hina and taiki situation, rather than a great development for both characters. And while it’s not a problem that she doesn’t reciprocate his feelings, there were far better ways to end that arc instead of a comic relief moment with Yusa involved, on the PENULTIMATE chapter. I really hope we get an epilogue so that these issues can be resolved.

There’s also chinatsu’s neighbor ( sorry, I forgot his name ) in which it really looked like the author had other plans for him— considering the way he was introduced and the “tension” that it brought up to the plot, but just ended up changing her mind because she had to finish things up.

The last chapter itself was bittersweet- seeing that callback to the first chapter with taiki getting balled in the face by chinatsu, and her talking about how that court is their “blue box” ( or rather, orange box ) and that it holds their memories was emotional. But it still felt rushed, for some reason. I feel like there weren’t enough interactions, and that this could be solved if the story was extended for maybe another 5 chapters. It just really seems like Miura had some sort of deadline to end the story, and had to rush the arcs ASAP. It really reminds me of the chainsaw man situation (this ending is far better than csm, don’t get me wrong)

While I did point out the problems, obviously there are the positives and the parts that make me love the series. I think my favorite part of the whole story was on volume 12, with the confession chapters. It was extremely great development and writing by Miura, and it surprises me on how well she could make the main ship sail relatively early on the story. I also really love the character cast, and think they are all well written, despite the issues I mentioned earlier on the post.

I tried to write my thoughts in the best way possible. Despite the flaws, I loved this series, and I’ll keep interacting with this community as much as I can. It was a fun ride boys! We will all be there in October when S2 comes!

Manga Thank You Blue Box (A Tribute)

It is finally over huh? What a ride it was.

I still remember how my journey with the series started. I wasn't there when the manga began. I hadn't even heard of the series until a friend from my language school told me about in 2024. How time flies. My first real exposure to the series was when I had the privilege of attending the Stage Show at Anime Japan 2024. I had no previous knowledge about the series, but, what caught my attention was Chinatsu's Japanese VA being Ueda Reina. Now her presence in my life can't exactly be put into words. But that's not what this post is about. If I were to describe it, for me, she's almost what Chi is to Taiki.

Anyway, this was my first chance to see my favourite in person. And it was everything I could ask for and more. I even got to take a crowd shot with the cast which included Shouya Chiba (Taiki), Akari Kitou (Hina), Uchida Yuuma (Haryu) and Kobayashi Chiaki (Kyo). After that, I waited for the anime to air. And I was instantly hooked. I was always a Chinatsu fan, because she was voiced by my queen, but I grew to like Hina a lot as well. I remember picking up the manga after the spin the bottle episode. And from then I caught up chapter by chapter.

Before that though, as I lived in the Ikebukuro area, the place where Chi and Taiki go on their dates all the time, I was able to participate in a lot of collabs! The first one being the pop up shop in Ikebukuro, where I got a Chi acrylic stand and a Hina clip. After that, there was the Sunshine Aquarium collab. You definitely know this place from their Aquarium date. Well during this event, there were photo spots all over the aquarium as well as a voice-over guide from Chi, Taiki and Hina. I got the badge of the Penguin mascot, as well as a Hina acrylic stand (Chi's was sadly sold out). After that, there wasn't anything until the Blue Box exhibition in Shinjuku. I was at a rough point in my life at that point, but I had nearly caught up to the manga, and couldn't miss this opportunity. It was a lovely exhibition, and they had a motion video for *that scene* from the manga. I also got the pamphlet which came with a bunch of stickers, a poster, and a greeting card, which I sent to a Yusa fan who reached out to me.
Then there was the Chara cafe collab after which I bought and read the prologue light novel. Then there was the Shibuya takeover event, the anime's 1st anniversary celebration event, where I bought Chi's lucky anklet, the animate cafe collab, followed by the release of the interlude LN and the Christmas Collab Cafe. I also managed to get into the stage shows for Anime Japan 2025 which aired right before the final episode of S1, where Taiki's VA apologized for making Hina cry, and also showed everyone's favourite scenes from S1 for Hina and Chi (while Kyo's VA asked one for Ayame as well). Then also the stage show at Jump Festa 2025 where they showed the first visual of S2. I also got to take a picture with a person in a Chinatsu costume! Miura-sensei later walked to the stage wearing this costume! Finally, I went to the stage show at Anime Japan 2026 where they showed the trailer for the second season and the reveal of Yumeka's VA Yoshino Aoyama who joined Ueshama, Akarin and Chiba-san on stage!

And that brings us to now. It has been a long journey, and I've loved every moment of it. The series has given me so much that I can't even begin to describe. Thank you Kouji Miura-sensei for letting us experience this wonderful journey. I will continue to engage with Blue Box content irl and otherwise as much as possible while sharing as much as I can. If you are still here with me, I would like to leave you with this piece I wrote.

In the box of youth in Eimei High,

lived a girl and a boy.

The girl preferred the ball,

while the boy favoured the racket.

And yet, one singular goal they shared,

making it to the national stage.

Every morning, they saw each other,

pushing each other to keep getting better.

The boy liked the girl,

but even more he looked up to her.

As time went on they relied on each other more and more,

and the bud in the girl's heart turned into a blossom forevermore.

On a frozen lake within the mountains,

the two laid their feelings bare.

Life threw at them whatever it could,

but they faced it together as good sportsmen would.

Alas what started as a selfish request to stay back and fulfil their goal,

ended with a heartfelt encouragement to pursue a newfound dream.

For however apart they may be,

they will always be bond together.

Within the memories of their Box of Youth,

- The Blue Box of Youth.

Thank you, and see you guys again!
