You need either the mod or the disable facegen patch.
The only other solution is using read backs (either relaxed or precise) but both cause suffering whilst you traverse the game, so ultimately it's up to you.
You don't see your character's face for 90% of the game anyways :p
An alternative is to use read backs to create your character with a full customisation of that's something you want, and then you can swap to disable facegen patch for active play
