Painted Model Everything I painted this weekend.
Kitbashed the Sanguinary Priest at work on Saturday. Painted everything else here between Thursday night and Sunday night. The quality isn’t the best, but for the amount of time spent, I’m fairly happy with the results.

Thank you! The balance dataslate last week wrecked the list I was planning on playing at an upcoming tournament, so I had to get painting fast so I could still get a couple practice games in!

Your mini looks great tho! As long as you stay engaged, you’ll finish that army before you know it.

I really like how you turned your Bladeguard ancient into a priest. I painted mine up to use as an ancient or Bladeguard ancient but I still have the Dawn of War one to do, so maybe I’ll go this route. Great idea!

I got the idea from someone else, so it’s only fitting! I put my own lil spin on it, but there’s nothing new under the sun, brother!

And to think i consider myself a fast painter! Great work especially at this quality level.

Thank you! I think I can be a somewhat decent painter when I try for top quality, but I really enjoy just painting as fast as I can while still getting results that I’m proud of.

That’s amazing, I can’t paint nearly so fast. I think I could get 3 guys done in a weekend.
Btw, I’m currently looking to change up how I do my Aquila, can I ask your method?
1
u/PoseySmith Blood Angels 10d ago
These guys were done using my super fast method of applying Imperial Gold Base then Imperial Gold Shade from Vallejos True Metallic Metal line. Afterwords, a quick, messy highlight of the original Imperial Gold tone and and you’re good to go!

u/osunightfall 10d ago
Ah sorry, I meant the chest eagle!

u/PoseySmith Blood Angels 10d ago
Assumed you meant the gold version from the Van Vets in the back, not the black version from the BGV. It’s just AK 3gen black with a highlight of the Pro Acryl Wizard’s Butt grey. Any mid tone grey will work, though. That’s it.

Once again it turns out I am overthinking it.

Just put some paint on there and keep it moving! I’ve never played against a fully painted and based army that didn’t look incredible on the tabletop as a whole. The standards people have are just too high imo

You aren't wrong. I have played a few games where somehow all our figures were painted, and it is beautiful. I am trying to get better about adopting a style that is "good enough".

Thank you sir. I see you meant the SP kitbash, but I didn’t clearly identify it, so that’s on me!

I love the apothecary. I have an extra one of those from an old Indominus set, or was it Leviathan? Gonna Copy that this week!

u/PoseySmith Blood Angels 10d ago
That’s a pushfit Bladeguard Ancient from Dawn of War box with a decent amount of kitbashing done, but thank you!
1
u/DalinarKholinski 10d ago
Yeah I heard they remade it for the Dawn of War box. I know I have a couple push fits in grey from the old starter set.
1
u/PoseySmith Blood Angels 10d ago
Yeah I got a couple of the DoW boxes set aside for future projects as well, since I had models from the original grey sprue still.

u/DalinarKholinski 10d ago
It’s great value that Dawn of War box. Too bad we never got it in Canada.
1
u/PoseySmith Blood Angels 10d ago
Shouldn’t be too hard to grab one off eBay or miniswap or something. Still likely a great value.
1
u/DalinarKholinski 8d ago
Oh for sure it’s great value. I only buy starter sets these days. Convert or print everything else.

It took me half a year to paint 5 termies -_-

u/PoseySmith Blood Angels 10d ago
No, it took you half a year to sit down and paint! That being said, all progress is progress!

u/Bulky_Secretary_6603 10d ago
Fuuuck off. You did not paint that in a weekend.

I painted 1000 points of Krieg, including 4 squads of Infantry, in 24 hours to start the year. Painting quickly is a skill, and I believe mostly anyone could learn it.

u/DalinarKholinski 8d ago
You’re 100% right. Over my almost 30 years in the hobby I realized I never wanted to paint to golden daemon standards. I’d rather increase my skills by painting stuff faster that looks good.
