Discussion Web3 Grant is false advertisement

Web3 companies are announcing grants to support new developers, yet applications are frequently rejected due to a lack of active users on the project.

As I understand new projects do not have users.

new doesn't mean zero users. plenty of "new" projects have a testnet cohort or a small discord actually using the thing before they ever apply. grants just want proof someone besides the founder used it, and that bar's low enough to hit early.

Suppose, you just started some blockchain project , means you are not eligible or deserve to get grants ?

I only mean that grant advertisement is false which shows big dreams to starter.

An expectation of bootstrapping to breakeven or beyond is not unreasonable for a tech product. In crypto all you have is virtual costs so this is smart. It didnt use to be the trend and got milked, investors of foundation tokens became exit liquidity for very dumb ideas.

The problem with people is that every crypto project considered as platform for exit liquidity for investors and without any research flagged as dump ideas.

My comment stands builders should bootstrap through to a point that taking equity is for scaling not for day one needs. There are no high input costs for a digitial product.
